Hello Flieger Abteilung 37 was part of the 8 Armee, together with Flieger Abt. 8, 22 and 214. Now I am not sure why there is a "Belgien" map in the first picture, as far as I know 8 Armee served on the Eastern Front (from Tannenberg to Estland) ? Anyways, great album. Regards, Marcin.
Hi. Friend of mine asked me about this picture. I believe two of them are from Grenadier-Regiment Konig Friedrich Wilhelm IV (1. Pommersches) Nr. 2. What about the first one? And what can we say about Miliz Bataillon Nr.3 ? (Can't find it in Ruhmeshalle unserer alten Armee...).
Great Picture Rick, thank you for sharing. As I can see "1YV" was some kind of nobility... what about the poor-young man? Was there anything like "2-3 year volunteer"?
Hello. Could anyone tell me what does it mean to be a "one year volunteer" ? I have few pictures of such volunteers, I wonder who are they Regards, Marcin.
Hello. Simple question: does "L.M.K.1" stands for Landwehr/Landsturm Maschinengewehr Kompagnie 1, or... something else? As far as I know it can not be "Leichte Maschinengewehr Kompagnie 1" because there was just one Leichte MGK (with number 75, part of 11 Landwehr Division). Any ideas? Regards, Marcin.
OK, now I understand. Maybe it is a copyright issue... anyways, I have found interesting book too: Das Buch der Ritter Orden und Ehrenzeichen.... Maybe we should creat some kind of a list of cool books?
