    1. Sorry Bob but I don't like anything about this visor. Shape, materials, lining, all repro I believe.
    2. Repairs like that are very common, especially to bomber clasps. The wreaths were very fragile and needed to be strengthened prior to even leaving the factory.
    3. These aren't that convincing to a knowledgeable collector; they'd definitely fool the more inexperienced one though
    4. I can't make out the clasp but the pilot badge looks like the "FLL" type of late war badge to me
    5. Very intriguing medal; can you post straight on shots of the front and back of it?
    6. Fl. Gr. L'Feld is Fliegergruppe Lechfeld. Lechfeld is near Augsburg and was an Me-262 base during the war. It's still in use today by the Bundesluftwaffe. The marking you thought was LOL05 is actually LBA 35, LBA being Luftwaffe Bekleidungsamt (Air Force clothing depot) and 35 is 1935.
    7. Based on these two pics I cannot condemn them (the HG) as fakes; that said, there are construction problems that I would expect to not be there. I guess it's a tough call on these, but I am leaning 60-40 they're good.
    8. Basically the nosebridge hinge is not symmetrical/even on both sides. The left side is different from the right side, as if finished by hand and was overdone.
    9. Gentlemen, please be advised that because an item glows it doesn't mean it's bad. I have a 100% original pair of Oberleutnant HG collar tabs that glow because they have been laundered. They came off of a Luftwaffe summer tunic that had been laundered and it too glowed like a Christmas tree.
    10. Take it outside and look at it in the sunlight. This is the best way to discern it's true color.

    12. The black visor itself is a type I have never seen on such a visor; I'd like to see a lot more pics of this cap. Back in the 70's many hats were monkeyed with to make them more desirable, like white piped Heer examples had their piping dyed to pink or other more desirable branch colors. I once saw a Luftwaffe General's visor that seemed symmetrically too small. An older, more experienced collector showed me what happened. "Someone" had removed the officer piping from the cap (it was an original Luftwaffe officer's cap to begin with) and sewn in gold piping. When it was finsihed, the cap looked awkward as it had taken on a shrunken shape. I'm not saying that's what happened to this cap, but with such a rare branch color this cap should have many pics provided by it's seller as well as an ironclad return privilege much longer than the usual 3 day period that is the norm in our hobby.
    13. I don't like that visor; I'd like to see a lot more pics of this cap
    14. I have never seen a tunic but I have two sets of NCO veterinary boards
    15. Nice pic. I especially like the two-tone padded pilot's badge being shown.
