    1. Hi, here is my modest contribution to Finland Minis thread Please look at the perfect manufacturing, including clasps, devices, hallmarks and maker marks. regards Tomasz
    2. Sorry, I have no idea. Just read the description on www.ehrenzeichen-orden.de But hopefully here is a Baden specialist on our forum, which could explain the mystery regards Tomasz
    3. Thank you. Yes, I know the Mondvor website. Will compare the marked details tomorrow at the daylight again. But I am still loking for other opinions regards Tomasz
    4. Not exactly. The medal was established in September 1918, awarded already since about mid-year 1919. Then 14 648 of the War of Liberty medal was sent by the Finnish Ministry of War to Germany, asking the German authorities to distribute them. Award documents for Germans are dated 3. July 1919, but the medals were distributed also in early 1920's.
    5. Great example. As you can see, there is Finnish medal of Liberation War 1918 as the last one. regards Tomasz
    6. Additional, better pictures of the second medal. Now all should be clear
    7. Thanks for confirmation. And this one? I suppose this is good 2nd type?
    8. Hi Gentlemen, this medal for Defence of Odessa has poor relief details, especially on the soldiers figures. Is this a worn original or a copy? What are you opinions? thank you Tomasz
    9. Now I see, that the DA device is a little different. So you have got ribbon bar "cleaned" from the miniatures... Sorry. Besides, ribbons sequence in the bar is wrong, the Mecklemburg cross should be directly after the EK. This soldier was a Mecklemburger (there is also a Mecklemburg-Schwerin long service cross (or medal). greetings Tomasz
    10. Hi, I don't understand, what you have restored. This ribbon bar was sold as is , together with matching medal bar http://www.trave-militaria.de/archiv/2864-6er-ordenspange-mecklenburg-schwerin-und-luebeck-mit-feldspange.htm greetings Tomasz
    11. Liberty Cross 2nd Class is right, beacuse here are also Prussian decorations awarded to officers, like RAO (Red Eagle Order) & KO (Order of the Crown). regards Tomasz
    12. Hi Dansson, good idea to revive Finnish topics Not easy to find bars with only 1918 decorations. Most what I have, contain medals of 1918 and Winter/Continuation War. But here is something interesting (I hope:) ) Liberation War medal in this 7-pieces medal bar is absent, but we can see here a Heimosotaristi (Cross of the Wars for Kinder Nations) 1918-1922 and Estonian War of Indepedence Medal. Intersting is here the Lotta Svärd Medal of Merit. Could belong this bar to a woman? (sorry, no documents accompanied). The Air Force Cross has ILMATORJUNTA clasp (Anti-Aircraft Defence) regrads Tomasz
    13. Unmarked crosses in this thread have at least three different needle mountings. Your seems to be same type as shown above by Homerjey. Here is mine, like this one posted by dond. regards Tomasz
    14. For sure not an official award, but looks nice old. Probably a privately made replacement from the 1920-30's. Is this one piece construction? regards Tomasz
    15. Hi, the pin seems to be a little different? (Zimmermann's needle is flat). Could you post a straight picture of the back? Another question: in the book by Henning Volle (Stiftungen und Erneurenungen von deutschen Ehrenzeichen im Ersten Weltkrieg, issued 2014) we cand find information, that Zimmermann took manufacturing of these crosses possibly no later than begining of 1918. So not all Zimmermann pieces are postwar. regards Tomasz
    16. Hi, General awarding crtiteria of the German States were serving in a unit of this State or on his teritory. Greetings Tomasz
    17. Thanks Daniel, they are good enough. Now I can see, that not only rosette, but also date on the back is a little different greetings Tomasz
    18. Thank you, guys. If somebody can post here an unquestionable original, that would be helpful
    19. Hi All, two years ago I have got this 2nd Class of 1918. It have some enamel damages on the back, but more important is the rosette on face. I see, that it is different as original (i.e. in Jani Tiainens book). Probably lost and replaced with another one. What are your opinions? greetings from Poland Tomasz PS. I know, the ribbon is also wrong (bow is missing)
    20. Yes, I have seen them only one time for sale, since I am collecting Finnish decorations (3-4 years). But I still haven't any version with the red cross... greetings Tomasz
