    1. Gordon, it sounds like a wonderful project.Looking at the names of the contributors i am sure there will be some superb examples illustrated.I have a very nice example of a zinc Schwerin HSF badge that is on hold for me right now.I should have it in a couple of weeks. Regards,Martin.
    2. Great looking helmets guys. Thanks for showing.I'd like to have one myself someday. Regards,Martin.
    3. Chris, my guess would be one of the early type tombak Schwerin's.I have one with the recipients service no. scratched on the reverse. N1060/34T. This indicates he joined the Kriegsmarine in 1934.So i wonder if he was one of the earliest recipients of the award? Cheers,Martin.
    4. Rich, thanks for showing.A great piece, and as mentioned quite unique. Regards,Martin.
    5. Sto, sorry i can find no information on the fox head in the references that i have. Regards,Martin.
    6. Here is the reverse of the 1st U-Flottile pin.Sadly, the pin and the circular plate are missing. Regards,Martin.
    7. Sto, here is a little more info on the polar bear emblem. Can you tell what kind of metal yours is made from?
    8. This is the only U-Boat cap badge i have in my collection,for the 1st U-Flottle,Brest. Regards,Martin.
    9. Richard, U-74 it is. Sto,the polar bear was in use with U-108,i think. Regards,Martin.
    10. Superb Darrel, they don't come much better then that. Congrat's,Martin.
    11. Gordon, great looking badge and interesting to see in zinc.So we know that Jucker produced their U-Boat and their Coastal Artillery badges in zinc but i have yet to see one of their Auxiliary Cruiser badges in zinc,or at least one that can be attributed to Juncker. Regards,Martin.
    12. Gordon, that is one very fine visor, thanks for posting.Nice little story to go with it also. Regards,Martin.
    13. And Christmas with family. Regards,Martin.
    14. Next is Christmas with shipmates?
    15. Hi nesredep, here are some "party" photographs from a family album i have just received. There is an individual who appears in all three pictures and he is the one wearing the Minesweeper badge. First up is what appears to be a party with shipmates, possibly Christmas?
    16. Pat, the new badge looks like a good Schwerin zincer to me.Tombak badges would not have the "bubbling" as your badge does.Another way to identify Schwerin tombak badges is that they do not have the circular catch plate. Regards,Martin.
    17. John, here is the obverse view. The damage on the badge is due to a very poor attempt by the recipient at hand vaulting,it appears. Martin.
    18. Gordon, is this what you are referring too? Regards,Martin.
    19. Here is a recent arrival.Shows the U-Boat and Minesweeper badges nicely.Hard to tell from the photo if the swastika is segmented on the U-Boat badge but from the angle of the flag i'm wondering if it is a Zimmermann badges or perhaps a Mayer? Regards,Martin.
    20. Michel, that is a great looking helmet.Coastal Artillery,perhaps? Regards,Martin.
    21. Nice looking badge Gordon and it appears to show good, honest wear. The Schwerin Hilfskreuzer has to be my favorite of all Kriegsmarine badges.I have two zinc examples but no tombak one yet.I think that the recipient of this badge went through a lot of trouble to repair it as he liked it so much. Regards,Martin.
    22. Darrel, very nice looking JFS.Great patina on the wreath guilding.I always found the detail real nice on the JFS badges. Regards,Martin.
