    1. Because Redenbach was mentioned, here his medal bar, incl. the real gold medal. Regards Alex
    2. The medal bar arrived in this condition from the family. Some awards are apart on display some are missing. They told me it was difficult to save the group from DDR to West Germany years ago. The Wippermann group is a loan from me for this exhibition. Regards Alex
    3. I asked myself why he don't listed the Luftschiffer guys. Do you have any awards for Gerstenberg? He succeeds Steegmann as commander of LZ 87 maybe early 1917. Regards Alex
    4. Thanks Rick. In the meantime I found the SEHO award to Steegmann. The LüH is new for me. Can you please look for Hptm Hans Barth. All this guys were commanders of LZ 87 but the order is unknown. I thought it is possible to find out in which order they are when I see the award date. I don't have another source. Maybe it works. I know that Steegmann was commander of LZ 87 from at least Sept. to Dez. 1916. Regards Alex
    5. I'd like to know what awards got this two army officers. Both were commanders of several air ships during WW1. I know that both got the EK2 and EK1. Thanks Alex
    6. Of course but this is not what I mentioned. The StHM is on the third position not on the second where it should be. Regards Alex
    7. I'd like to show a saxon medal bar with an unusual order. Regards Alex
    8. This one. All other pieces are from air ships. Regards Alex
    9. Another highlight The Ehrenpreis of LtzS Theodor Lodemann (23.07.1894 - 04.07.1918) awarded 11.06.1918. The group of LtdRMI Karl Wippermann last leader of Landflugstation Nordholz.
    10. the highlight of this exhibition. The group of FrgKpt Peter Strasser (FdL)
    11. I want to bring this thread alive with some impressions from the special exhibition to the 100th anniversary of the german naval aviation service. This exhibition is open until 31. August 2014 at the Aeronauticum / Nordholz. An overview
    12. here a picture of Mathy's group from the Technikmuseum at Berlin. But look, another Mathy dagger. Sorry for the bad quality but i don't have better pictures. This is the result of bad light condition and no flash. Regards Alex
    13. Yes i saw the picture. Yes it is a stamped badge. But without better pictures it is hard to rate the badge. I know of two genuine see pilot badges, even if Baldes doesn't show one in his book :-) Regards Alex
    14. Apart of the fact that the pinback awards are mounted on the bar, i would say that the medal bar itselfs is genuine. I can't assess the bars, especially the "2.SEEFLIEG.ABT." but possible that this are original too. We need better pictures of the see pilot badge but it looks better than the common fakes. The army wound badge doesn't match to an navy pilot but overall it doesn't look bad. This include not, even if all awards are original, that the group is original. Regards Alex
    15. I want to post this vary nice picture of an unknown ottoman officer with pilot badge. This picture was taken in germany at the RFA 501 (giant plane unit). Regards Alex
    16. Oberkommando von Mackensen. Türk. Bevollm. Generalstab?? Regards Alex
    17. Here my one and only document. Awarded to Hptm Hans Arndt as leader of Feldfliegerabteilung 66 (later renamed to Fliegerabteilung 34) , Xanthi (Bulgaria). And here the german document Regards Alex PS: Thank to demir for translating this document
    18. Here my contribution. A german navy NCO and member of the navy see flying station at Constanta (Romania). Regards Alex
    19. Sorry Rick but is this a requirement for questions. If so most of the users had no contribution to the research community, including me. In this special case you have one of the best aviation experts on this planet, and a vary gentle person. I think Gunnar help everyone who ask for help. That's the experience I made with him. Don't forget that there are more ways of publication than this forum or online cuminities. Gunnar was involved and many publications of other authors. He was more in the background. But without his knowledge most of this publications have not been realized. Not all make the research in the limelight as you. Regards Alex
    20. What a outstanding bar. look at the Hamburg cross ist is a nice silver version. I hope it could be identified. Regards Alex
    21. The signature on the second log book could be of KptLt Alfred Edler who was the leader of SFS Putzig from 13.06.1918. He came to Putzig from SFS Flensburg where he was the leader of the training unit. I'm sure Gunnar has more infos about him. Regards Alex
    22. What a great group you showed here. Really great documents. I would be vary glad to read all the pages of his log books. This contains a lot of important informations about the training of navy pilots. It seems he had a single-seater training short after his pilot training. I have a log book of an navy land pilot who had a simillar training. First a basic pilot training and after that the single-seater training at the school at Langfuhr. This was the second single-seater school of the navy. I think your grandfather never was involved as pilot in WW1. Regards Alex
    23. There is no award of the Ehrenpreis documented to Christoph Ullmann. Also to the other guy. Regards Alex
    24. This is Not correct. I saw regular Ehrenpreise awarded 1918. Like the One awarded to Fl.Ob.Mt. Giese on 23.05.18 or the One to Lt.z.S. Lodemann from 11.06.18. This are only two example. I saw the one from Weitze and the other one you mention. I don't know what this are but since I don't see a group coming with a document no one know if this was a official replacement for the Ehrenpreis. If I remember the other one comes with a name of an pilot who don't have an confirmed victory. I think it is not useful to make baseless rumors. Regards Alex
