    1. Which is just one of the reasons for my interest in the kurhessian ODM, mainly focussing on the Wilhelmsorder the last couple of years. Should anyone have examples of the kurhessian ODM, please post pictures regards David
    2. I must say the "quote" on the Frankfurt campaign medal, maybe together with the russian 1812 campaign medal which reads: (translated in German) "Nicht f?r uns/nicht f?r uns / nur / f?r Deinen Namen" are the more original ones, compard to my beloved Kurhessian and even the prussian ones, which they just copied (or was it the other way around. regards David
    3. Hi Rick Where did you get these numbers from? They do not entirely correspond with the data I have, and I am most curious as to what other kind of publications there are around regards David
    4. As an "expert" (yeah right) on the kurhessian ODM, I can say there were some more than 136 but not that much. I thought I saw one in a Thies catalogue (a GC one) some years ago. I am researching the recipients and specific reasons for the awards. regards David
    5. Hi I am looking for someone who could help me out with looking up Johann Albert Varrentrapp in the PS of between 1871 and 1885. I am interested in his ODM which should include something sachson, austrian, bavarian and a PROA3 would a date be possible to estimate, I would be very happy!! regards David
    6. He is the guy who was in charge of the Germans in GSWA in WWI, right? Really read a lot about him years ago, nice to see his face!! David
    7. Hi Gordon I would also love to see the civilians-collar and sleeves in close-up. What rank-equivalent was this uniform worn by (militairy)? Thanks David
    8. Should there be someone with new rolls to transcribe, I would like to volunteer helping out with the transcription. regards David
    9. Hi Paul Youre right, I know, as I transcribed part of the L?beck rolls myself. Although I dont feel like getting all defensive here; I am not a collector but a researcher to just 2 or 3 topics, of which my own family is one. So I am not going to buy the rolls because I am just looking for a possible award to a distant cousin and as a researcher have better means for my small funds. So as far as I am concerned, let it be up to the people who transcribe the rolls to decide if the are going to answer such questions and not for others to criticise. It goes without saying that we all (myself included) cannot appreciate the efforts of Rick enough, the work again being mainly based on ideology. Same reason I didn't buy your CD with DOA btw, because I am only interested in the -10 people who are in there with all their ODM listed including the CHWO I am working on at the moment. The other thousands just won't be interesting to my research. Hope you understand a bit more now regards David
    10. Great!! Am I correct to remember that I saw these with emaille on the ear as well (in gold-colour)? regards
    11. Hi Bernd That is great!! Will the publication be announced via this board? What will the estimate price be? will it give full date and name of the recipient (or even more??) I am very happy to see that there is some progress in describing not just the WWI ODM (which are invaluable to collectors) but also the pre war and even pre-empirial ODM (which are really interesting to some kind of history freaks.....like me ) regards David
    12. Hi I am looking for the Schr?der entry of the grandducal hessian Generals Karl August von Stockhausen Carl Wilkens thanks and regards David
    13. So I guess you don't know anybody currently working on peacetime orders. (Although I would like to consider myself one for doing the (pre-)imperial kurhessians) I do know that the peacetime data is available at the archive in M?nich, so I was hoping someone was working them already. However I don't know if the number of war awards (which include several thousands per medal e.g. for the hanseatics) of the 4 year differ wildly with the number of awards for the peacetime era?
    14. Hi Does anyone know if there are any rolls of the bavarian orders (being worked on) I am not specifically interested in the 4 war years, more likely in the other 40+ years of the Second Empire. regards David
    15. The detail of the Siamese Order of the White Elephant is incredible, could you post a close-up? BTW what is the text the picture is taken on? Is it a set? regards David
    16. Hi Wild Card Thanks for your quick reply. I dont know when these were issued though....would there be any additional data on the recipients to be found? e.g. in the Staatshandb?cher? Would there also be members who know about the GSSVM?
    17. Hi I am looking for (preferably colour) pictures and other info (possibility of rolls existing) of the W?rttemberg Golden Civil Merit Medal and the Grandducal Sachson Civil Merit Medal. Dates I am interested in would both be pre 1880. Thanks a lot regards David
    18. Hi Rick Would there be any von M?ldner , M?ldner or M?ldner von M?lnheim on the list? Thanks for checking regards David
    19. Interesting! What kind of officials were there? are there any kind of rank-destinctions? regards David
    20. Hi Rick Thank you for going into that so thoroughly. I hope you were not under the impression that the Gnome-job is an easy one.... I was just wondering, but now I fully understand why these kinds of change are not easy to research. regards David
    21. Interesting...just out of curiousity is it because the rolls for the awards are not all there? I mean how many combo's could there be with the HHOX, MeckG3, OFJ and the Sachson combined? Are there to many candidates or is there another problem? Again I am not questioning your research ( who would dare to ) I am just wondering what the problem is in this specific case. Hope you forgive me David
    22. I already found someone with the following Stammliste FR80 IR 82 IR 83 JB 11 So I am still looking for: HR 13 HR 14 AR 11 PB 11
