    11. Hi! I have a question about Consuls. I have two kurhessian Consuls in austria, one in Vienna and one in Triest. They are both austrian nationals (confirmed) but in they received their ODM in the service of the Kurf?rst. Should I treat them as foreign recipients (for their nationality) or as domestic ones (because they were kurhessian Consuls receiving a kurhessian decoration)? Hope you can advise me regards David

    15. Well the picture our Haynau uses as his avatar is the same as the austrian Haynau listed in the OEH list. If he is really related though I do not know....The FML only had a daughter as I recall. The Haynau and Hessenstein-brothers listed are all natural sons of Wilhelm I

    21. Hi KIR would you know what kind of records there are on sachson militairy specifically generals from around the 1850's. Do they have the personal records (Laufbahndaten) available? Do they also have pictures of Generals in the Staatsarchive in Sachsen? Maybe you research something in the Sachson archives yourself? Hope you can advise me regards David
    22. Hi Wild Card I see you even have the one established by my favourite Kurf?rst (Wilhelm II.) magnificent pieces. Are the ribbons original as well? Although the recipientslist for the 1821-1832 version of the Cross was not published, I can get you the list for the others. You can find the 1840 one here: Kurhessian Staatshandbuch 1840
    23. Althoug not a big fan of the nazi-era ODM, I must say the simplicity and beauty of the DRK astonish me!
    24. Hi Ulsterman Thanks for sharing these beauties! As I recall correctly, at least in 1814 the Garde-Husaren-Escadron stayed at home. I don't know about 1815 though. I also love the Kn?tel-pictures, especially those of the Hanseatic Legion (both voluntary Husars and the Bremen J?ger) regards David
