    2. to bad you cannot post pics....maybe you could try one of them free picture sharing sites? Your spange does sound really great!!
    3. Surely with all these upcomming rolls this should be "easy" right? Any chance?
    4. Hi would anyone happen to have the following book: Autor: Pohlmann, Georg Titel: Geschichte des Infanterie-Regiments Graf Barfuss Nr. 17 im neunzehnten Jahrhundert Verlag, Ort, Erscheinungsdatum: Berlin : Mittler, 1906. - VIII, 311 S. I would be very interested to know wheter or not a Leutnant (Theodor) Mueldner (1817-1841) is mentioned in the book at all..... regards David
    5. Hi This might be off-topic, but I am hoping to find it here, I would like to ask you for a scan of the bio of the guy mentioned in volume 4 part 1 of page 573 1972 volume of the Who's Who in Germany series. A distant relative married the guy who is mentioned at p 573 (well she is mentioned there and I do not know the lenght of the article, googlebooks only gives afragment) I really hope someone can help me out, as it is all I know about this cousin. regards David
    6. with all do respect, the photo says Frhr Marschall General der Kavallerie to my untrained eyes.
    7. Hi I have a CHWO2a winner who also got a decoration named Hamburger Dankzeichen. Although I am not at all sure this is imperial or not, I am just curious as I understood the hanseatics did not issue many decorations ( I only know about the napoleonic and WWI war-commemoration medals). Maybe it is in Nimmergut? What does it look like, whats the story behind it? Just me being curious regards David
    8. What about the bavarian Orders pre 1914 (BSMO/BCKO et cetera) are there rolls at all, are they being worked on by someone already perhaps? regards David
    9. Although replying to myself, I actually thought that someone else would.....
    10. Probably not that important...supply and ammo...who needs that in times of war? Just bizar this guy did not get anything.....
    11. Hi Werner I forgot to thank your for the date! Another one which will find his way into his CHWO entry regards David
    12. Well although it is youthfull enthusiasm form my side, I would say, take me up on it Rick!! I am sure we will find other people more than willing to work on the lists as well! For privat mailing about this, Daniel K has my gmail address. regards David
    13. Very helpfull !!! and so many to! I will add them to the data I already have (I have him as a CHWO2b ofcourse) and will try to find more dates for the awards. It could make sense (the order of abbreviations that is) and I will try and find at least the GHVP1 and NGOdE1 to try and prove it. Will let you know what I find out. As a matter of fact, I am working the foreign recipients of the CHWO in the exact same way as for their awards. First other or previous kurhessian, then the domestic awards and the rest in chronological order. It is in my opinion the most logical way to work, as I also represent their career chronologically (at least the 1851-1866 era career, including the last position held and the date of peniosn if available). regards David
    14. The photo reminds me of a puupet I saw once. Cannot remember if it was a muppet or a freggle. Without ensulting the Reverend, the puppet I recall (only vaguely ofcourse) looks just like him with that chin, nose and the hair backwards. but that's just LOL, please forgive me :off topic:
    15. Well we managed to do the L?beck in an international team. Why not put the Orderslist on a CD of scans and hace them typed out by a group of people. If anyone would have (one o) these orderlists, I would be happy to volunteer as first typing drone :-) (on the job I do something similar) After all it does not need to be finished next week, right? Making no money at all ... who cares, science (especially history) hardly ever does, in my opinion although we cannot go without! So please let me know if I can help out in anyway! regards David
    16. Hi Rick I checked my data and yours does not correspond with Hans Gustav v. Gersdorff. He received the SAO1 in 1878. You describe (very usefull to me as well) the ODM of Georg Rudolf (most likely related) von Gersdorff. He was the Ober-Hofmarschall (at least in my CHWO data. Hans Gustav received the CHWO2b in 1853 and the HG2b in the 1850's. I would like to know the ODM of the latter v. Gersdorff as well should he be mentioned in one of your STB. regards David
    17. Hi Rick Thanks that's great. Do you also have an earlier Sachson STB to see if he got all this GC's as GCs right away or that he might received a lower grade first. regards David
    18. Thanks Beau and Rick! Why not put the names and dates in the Ludvigsen reprint as well....just over a 100 regards David
    19. Hi I am looking for the entry of Hans Gustav v. Gersdorff the royal saschon Ober-Ceremonienmeister and Ober-Kammerherr (per his entry in the referencebook on the Sachson-Albert Orden) in 1878. I would be very interested in his other ODM. So should have anyone have a sachson Staatshandbuch (....as late as possible) I would be very happy with your help regards David
    20. Hi I have some questions on the PKO(3)aE. Were they awarded for a specific war? Where they awarded all at the same time? I have a Friedrich Lichthammer with following data, and I would like to know if the exact date of his PKO3aE is possible to find. My data so far Friedrich Lichthammer (geboren 00.04.1818, gestorben 1875<) 1854 Bahn-Ingenieur und Vorstand der Verwaltung der Main-Neckar-Bahn, 1866 Baurath ; Geheimer Baurath. 26.12.1858 GHVP3; 01.08.1871 GHLO3a; RStA3(D.i.B.) 20.07.1857 etc. (RStS3bmK; RStW3); BSMO3a; GEO3; PKO3aE. StaD R21C (Beamtenkartei). regards David So to explain the composition of his entry Name (date and place of birth and death); profession in the 1851-1866 era (which was when the CHWO was awarded (using the ; to indicate that the next description is of his post 1866 career. ODM dates of awards in fron of the abbreviation of the order, dates of allowance to wear behind the abbr., domestic awards first in chronological order, followed by the other awards in chronological order. Sources I used to find these data. Should anyone would like to comment on the composition or direct me in to doing it in another fashion, please let me know. regards David
    21. I do not see the neckbadge either. I thought the pinback (CCI?) Would come with a neckbadge always? regards David
    22. Von Sichart got promoted fairly quickly as well. My 2 cents on these guys Eduard Heinrich von Treitschke (geboren Dresden 1796, gestorben Dresden 1867) (k?niglich s?chsischer Adelsstand 25.07.1821, Diplom 12.09.1821); 21.09.1849 Generalmajor und Chef des Generalstabs, 1851 Commandeur der 2. Karl Adolf von Sichart (geboren Dresden 1797, gestorben 04.12.1854); 16.10.1851 Generalmajor 1853 Commandeur der 1. Infanterie-Division und der Leib-Infanterie-Brigade, gleichzeitig Gouverneur von Dresden. 27.05.1849 StH; 1849 PROA2X; BZL1; OEK1; 1849 OLO2mkD. Klenau Nr 3008; Richter; Verlohren S. 491. 23. Hi SPM Thanks for that, I will add it to his entry.
