    1. JC, Very nice! I am waiting for one for my collection. If everything goes well - I should have it by summer. William
    2. Sold for $138.50 I thought about getting it, but what are you going to do with such sad and incomplete piece? William
    3. It's typical Soviet made badge. I've never seen a box like that, they normally come in wooden boxes. I guess this one was custom made. William
    4. I was offeren one recently, the price was around $1000. William
    5. The Duke was awarded with the highest order of Bulgarian Kingdom - order of Cyril and Methodius, which was bestowed to only NINE Bulgarians (including 3 for Royal family) and 52 foreigners, mostly heads of state. Insignia of the order are worn in the form of the sach badge as well as breast star. I am not aware of any miniatures for the order. William
    6. Thank you! They look great when you hold awards in your hands.
    7. Ed, how much did they ask for these in UB? More than $12K? William
    8. Extra rare award!!!! Type 1 Variation 1 Order for Civil Valour. Established in 1926. About 300 awards of Type 1 were bestowed (both V1 and V2).
    9. Here's one old Gramota from my collection. A certificate awarded to a shockworker in the 1934 Uzbek cotton harvest. Hard cover and neat art deco design w Stalin's portrait inspiring workers on to greater successes. William
    10. Glenn & Josef, Thank you very much for the scans!!! William
    11. Years ago I had exactly the same copy, but with Soviet HSL red ribbon!
    12. Ed, Many thanks! Looks like he was great figure in Mongolian revolution; his life ended so early and in a tragic way The photo is actually a postcard. William
    13. Medal/ribbon combination on the first medal makes no sense. Yellow-blue are Ukrainian colors, while ROA on the medal is Russian phenomenon. More appropriate colors would be blue, white or red. William
    14. Ed, Sorry - I don't know his Russian spelling.
    15. Here's nice early Russian Civil War period photo. I was told this is Mongolian General Magsarjav. He looks Mongolian to me, but wears RKKA uniform. Does anyone have any info on this person? William
    16. Now, when I look closer - suspension appears to be heavily patinated, while medal itself has no patina at all. Should there be such contrast?
    17. Josef, would it be too much to ask to get a scan of the page where these awards are listed? Many thanks, William
    18. Walter, very nice collection and good looking displays!
    19. I would start with major dealer web sites, then check serial numbers list here on GMIC.
