    1. OK then. Next try. Sorry, the easier ones are solved before, so only the tricky ones are left But here may be a chance: the combination and the backing smells like navy. Sold from a dealer as "from private source" and "a doctor from Hamburg". I couldn´t find him in the 1918 rank list. Thanks and regards, Komtur.
    2. Thanks for that input. Unfortunately I have no idea how to confirm him via other sources. His career and positions in WW1 would be of interest ... Regards, Komtur.
    3. Just by chance I noticed, that the Godet tag with "Königl. Hofjuweliere" not fits with the 1934 cross. But this could be a late addition without changing the old tag. On the button and the ribbon bar the Red Cross Medal is missing, so it must be the second to last award. I have this bar in my collection for some years and Daniel may forgive me asking now on this place again and always the same question: WHO COULD THIS BE? Thanks and regards, Komtur.
    4. this bar and again and again to the master of research gnomes. Regards, Komtur.
    5. A late (1917/18) silver gilt Crown Order 3rd class with X, but not much more to cross check Nonetheless thanks for trying! Regards, Komtur.
    6. This was indeed a fine teamwork research Congrats Claudio to this immaculate Godet now with a name! Regards, Komtur.
    7. Did you check the REO4 in the Kgl. Pr. Ordenslisten? Regards, Komtur.
    8. Groß-Berlin must fold too. Tried double check Crown Order with Johanniter from the Ordensliste, but to many von, Freiherr, Graf etc. among them. I have no other idea ... Regards, Komtur.
    9. I know, it is thin ice, but I think, Hofmeier is very suspect to be the person, we are searching for. His medal bar on the painting seems to be the same combination AND his documents were sold too. Thanks! Komtur. PS: I added another picture of him, before Red Eagle Order promotion to the 2nd class.
    10. For the first glance no chance ... - BUT - Prussian 25 years service cross WITHOUT any Prussian order as it is always suspect for a general or an admiral rank. The owner made in 1901 a trip to China, so it must come down to a few persons of these ranks. No reactivation in 1914. Blue backing! No non-Prussian awards on the bar ... - THEREFORE - any chance Best Regards, Komtur.
    11. May be. But also some other connections because of Willis sister Sophie are possible. I am quite sure, that therefore a few Greeks with a Crown Order 3rd class can be found in the Ordenslisten. Because of this I did not look there until now. Regards, Komtur.
    12. As a start as always Wikipedia? He belongs to the 100 wealthiest Germans of his time. Reason enough to become a Freiherr. I am quite sure, that a great painting of him is to be seen in the Deutschen Historischen Museum in Berlin. Unfortunately I can not find the foto I made of it a few years ago. Regards, Komtur. PS: The painting in the DHM is the one to be seen in the Wikipedia-Link.
    13. The key seems to be that boring prussian Red eagle 4th class? Regards, Komtur.
    14. I am quite sure, that this person got his EK not in France, but somewhere in Berlin in a government department. So may be, he´s hidden in the 1918 Staatshandbuch. I would not be surprised, if he had prussian neck decorations too. Regards, Komtur. PS: Welcome back Mr. Research
    15. Here you are again. It would be nice, if you could answer to my pm. Regards, Komtur.
    16. Exactly! To help ID your bar was your question and he did Regards, Komtur From Militär-handbuch des Königreichs Bayern 1914:
    17. Oberlazareth-Gehilfe Michael Zymalkowski, 3. Kompanie des 1. Posenschen Infanterie-Regiments Nr. 18
    18. So he got none, this is strange indeed The bar seems to made of two parts to wear together or as "Prussian only", isn´t it? Regards, Komtur.
    19. I take it According to Daniels recepients list of the hanseatic trio above, he was St. Heinrich Commander 1st class too. Was your bar made before this award or was it usual to wear the knight cross after getting the commander? Regards, Komtur.
