    1. :speechless1: If it's, a fake then I must admit it fooled me. regards
    2. Nice find and cheap too, well done. Regards
    3. I would agree regards
    4. Thanks, never new about the film but did know about Rommel's uniform going AWOL regards
    5. mm not a great vaulting but not flat, the case in which it sits shows a degree of vaulting. Maker Mark
    6. There were early vaulted TR Pieces. Attached is one of mine, maker L/II which shows oroginal vaulting, as can be seen from the case in which it sits. regards
    7. Just re-visiting my last post. the suspension loop seems to be oval, and just to confuse matters, is the date 1831?, or is it just my eyes? if 1831 and a repro, they may have got the numbers and side in the wrong order.
    8. Does this look like an original 3/4 loop? the breast eagle looks like its been through something?
    9. Is this a real film and if so which one? I don't recall Old Ronny being a nazi soldier. regards Alex Edit, the breast eagle looks Cr@p
    10. Tremendously interesting Photo's, where do you get them from? Edit, looking at the photo, isn't this a 3/4 ring RK? I assume that most of the uniforms and regalia were actual wartime originals. Having seen "The one that got away" with Hardy Kruger it must have been a bit like re-living History. Thanks for posting Alex edit, looking at the Photo, isn't this a 3/4 ring RK?
    11. Well spotted. I did notice but it just didn't register in my brain regards Alex
    12. Another to add, this time a Brit, General Sir Charles Warren bit of a waste of space by all accounts, nevertheless has some nice gongs regards Alex
    13. You could be right, maybe he just ran out of space regards
    14. Really impressive stuff! I would say that he is wearing 8 decorations on the mid line, possibly even 9, at the very front there appears to be a ribbon , the actual award is hidden by the others, but I could be wrong. What about the neck decorations?
    15. Truly amazing piece of research. I must agree with Rick however, all this identifying the person only for someone else (E-bayer)to benefit does'nt make sense, however it does show what can be done on this excellent forum. regards Alex
    16. Maybe at the Waldorf Astoria though Excellent work. On a serious note, given the fact that the guy had so many ODM's and was a high official at the Court of the King of Bavaria, any chance he could be eventually identified, so that in the end he has a name and not just a faded postcard? just a thought Regards Alex
    17. Very interesting documents, nice to see a real "Herr Flick of the Gestapo" albeit a small fry (Re Allo' Allo) for those who are not familiar with this Brit sit-com regards Alex K
    18. Hi Carol, hope you don't mind but the guy was obviously well respected with all that "bling" perhaps we should start a competition to see who can identify all the awards the guy received? regards Alex K
    19. Hi Claudius, your original request was for info on the ORDER of St Catherine, what you are describing appears to be a lower medal attached to the order, a different thing regards Alex
    20. ?30 000 000 seems like a substiantial amount to have wafting about in your UK economy with no real checks Edit, as a percentage of the overall amount in circulation, granted small, but what happens if you win the lottery and they decide to pay you with ?1 coins and they all turn out to be fake!! , can I have my ?30m back now plaease and tough Sh@t
    21. Yup saw it on BBC news. In other words my interpretation "We havn't got a bleedin' clue as to how many are out there, If you keep your mouth shut so will we, have a look at your coins and if it looks like this, tell us and we will remove you of your hard earned cash with no compensation, because we are to bone idle keep a check on it ourselves" regards Alex
    22. Very nice group, well done for preserving a nice group before they get scattered to the wind as I assume they are not named as per most WWII service medals regards Alex
