    1. Beautiful work as usual... I'm just a bit perplexed as to why you chose a Stahlhelm as a canvas instead of a soup bowl helmet...
    2. Breathtakingly impressive Colin! Just gorgeous!
    3. Different medals from different ministries in many variants... Do you mean to civilians or soldiers? Peace time or war time? Like Chris mentioned, not that easy. Please be a bit more specific.
    4. Outstanding video! I sent the URL to French and Moroccan friends.
    5. 1 1/2 minute... He did that in a mere minute and a half... The beauty of it... Just speechless...
    6. I can barely believe these are made from scratch... What exquisite worksmanship and attention to details!! I am simply blown away by your talent!
    7. Looks like another masterpiece on the way...
    8. The new medal will be a permanent replacement to the different medals bestowed in the last 2 years. This one (sharing it's ribbon with the new award) was for the 2012 "Caucasus Exercise" This one was for the Russian-Belarusse Joint Strategic Exercise "West 2013"

    10. The pic in post #6 darn near made me fall out of my chair... The tsar in a German uniform and the kayser in a Russian uniform... Dang!
    11. I second what Chris said, every word of it. We just stop by to admire your great work.
    12. Fascinating stuff! I had no idea this award even existed.
    13. It's already quite exceptional to receive a medal for service within our own national borders. Everything is about deployed international ops...
    14. The medal hangs from the wrong ribbon. It is also in unsilvered tombac with an enameled center leading me to believe it might be a "souvenir" piece or unofficial variant. This is an award of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, it was established on 27 December 1995 by ministerial order 885. It is the Medal "Participant in emergency humanitarian operations". Awarded to individuals or organisations for their involvement in humanitarian relief operations and contributions to prevention and to the organization of such future operations as well as for dedication and courage. Oddly enough, (possibly due to the number of foreign recipients?) the medal hangs from a straight mount contrary to all other ministerial awards that hang from the standard Russian pentagonal mount. NOTE: Ministerial order 620 dated 6 december 2010 completely refurbished ministerial awards, this particular medal was not included in the new charts and is no longer on the ministerial web site leading me to believe it is possibly no longer awarded. That would potentially explain the weird piece in the original post.
    15. They could have the number coined/stamped/molded directly onto the clasp. The cost would be minimal. Jean-Paul is quite right IMHO... 2 full years spent near the North Pole away from loved ones and in quite austere conditions should be better recognized. A clasp with "ALERT - 4" would be soooooo simple to produce.
    16. Here here! I am in full agrement with Brian! Incredible talent put to great use!
    17. As usual... WOW! Awesome work!! Keep them coming!
    18. I would've never guessed. First time I see this award. He must've truly valued this particular award, wearing it in lieu of other French gongs.
