    1. Right....here the direction is completely strange...normally you would see in that case the MEZ in first position - never say never
    2. I would not like to have this bar.....because of a lot of reasons Laurentius.... FA-medals were not for 5 or 10 years.... silver and bronze , but that was not a long service award but a war merit award....grades depend on the rank of the soldier / nco
    3. Roman the 1864 medal is not for Königgrätz....and the 1866 medal is a cross , here it is the version of the main armee
    4. Hello, can anybody help me with this photo....what unit or troop is this officer from , maybe Kürassier or Jäger zu Pferde? picture is made 1890 in Berlin , think this officer has been sent there to some school or position , so the place will not help...shoulderboards are too blurry , nothing to see there clearly.... thanks for all help Heiko
    5. I really can`t see it very good....but as he clearly is a Badener it could be of course a Greif , the crest animal of Baden , that would look similar to a dragon....but I have never seen this cross before.
    6. The medal bar with the AEZ pair is very cool if you find the time please show the reverse of the bar
    7. Take a look at the reverse...it seems that the bar has been worn as a Frackspange , then the KDM70 would have been in first and the Centenar in last place....
    8. Originally their members were recruited only from foresters (Jäger , Förster) , you can find it in older rank lists on the first sides...only a small number of men , they were the FedEx of their time and transported important documents between higher military positions.....as far as I know it has nothing to do with the later Feldjäger or Feldgendamerie . There is one book about this from the end of 19th century but it is not cheap , you can find it in some antique book stores
    9. Saw something like this some times before when bavarian officers were for long times in prussian service or units , for example in the Schutztruppe , we had a lot of discussions in german forums about these "long service things" , this is a wide field with many possibilities and surprises....
    10. Found him in the Ehrenrangliste.....during ww1 in some Nachrichtenstabsabteilungen in Mitau , Libau and Bukarest , finally Stab der Hochseestreitkräfte , finished as Fregattenkapitän a.D.
    11. Interesting man..... 1904 commander of Flusskanonenboot Vaterland in China (Kapitänleutnant) , 1907 1.Werftdivision Kiel , 1909 Nachrichtenoffizier of SMS PREUSSEN (Korvettenkapitän) and 1912 Adjudant of Viceadmiral von Dambrowski in Kiel Inspektion des Bildungswesens der Marine....this is the first time any awards shine up - officers long service cross (25 years) , Red eagle order 4.class and Johanniter Ehrenritter ....think he has left navy between 1912 and 1914 Edit: 1900 Oberleutnant zur See auf Schulschiff CHARLOTTE
    12. Not the only bar pimped up and changed like this during the last months from that source.....
