    1. It takes a desperate person to commit such an act . I hope the authorities find the low-life and that the veteran receives his badge back. Rich
    2. I added this one recently and in the hand it's a very nice example. I know there are better condition examples out there but this one is pretty nice too! From the front almost all the creamy frosting remains. This badge was worn and as per ususal, most wear can be seen from the reverse. Regards Rich
    3. Andy Never before have I seen the mark on the pin from this maker so something new for me today! Yes, shame about the core but I think there's nothing much you can do for it now except make sure it stays rust-free. Regards Rich
    4. Stijn Not an easy piece to find. The condition is very nice (except for the catch - but it could be a lot worse!). Congratulations! Rich
    5. Very nice additions, Danny! The '123' is just superb! Rich
    6. Hi, I owned one like this myself many years ago and I could see nothing wrong with it. It too was marked '26' and was exactly the same only in better condition. Rich
    7. Allan, Yes both have names but I haven yet been able to decypher them! Working on it though! Thanks! Indeed but what gets me is why use L15 instead of L/15 unless Orth was producing them for Schickle and created their own marking stamp minus the '/'... Rich
    8. Danny, I looks untounched under that delicious patina. The flange has turned completely blue/black over the years. Bill, It's a very interesting piece. Excellent condition but the piece is exactly the same core/frame as the '15' Orth pieces yet the marking is L15 and the catch is typical Schickle... so there must have been some exchanging of components or one or the other lost their license to continue to sell these and the other firm was permitted to use up their remaining stock?? Thanks for the comments, guys. Yes, I've been on a little roll lately. Rich
    9. Robin, I have to admit, I'm really like this one. I admired them from afar and now it's in the hand I really rate it in my top 2! Joe, That's exactly why I favour it too! Thanks for the comments, guys. Rich
    10. ...and these 2 EKII with envelope. Both envelopes have the recipient's name at the top. Rich
    11. For some reason this maker has escaped me for some time. Well that wait is over with the arrive of this example. Rich
    12. Micha Definitely a W&L cross which leads me to ask 2 questions: Is the ring unbroken? - If not perhaps it has been added to the cross. Is the stamp period or later added? - I guess another '48' marked ring would need to be examined to check if the fonts match. Rich
    13. Dave, You are a star! You've just confirmed what I was suspecting... Only yesterday I was looking at another '65' online and found it matched mine exactly. From there I was beginning to wonder if there were 2 cores!! Thanks mate! Rich
    14. Thanks for the comments and for trying to ID them! Some of the differences between makers are minute... I was sure the 2nd was K&Q from the frame ribbing until I got to the '3' in 1939 and then realised they did not match. This is the condition I like my EKII's in...untouched from the day they were handed out. Underneath that 60 year old patina are two beautiful crosses! Rich
    15. Steve Looks like you are on a roll! I have 2 myself but both M35's. Never have found a M40 DD. Here's the first.
    16. Next one... I had though perhaps K&Q but when it arrived and was examined closely, it doesn't appear to be. Any ideas?
    17. As mentioned in the DEumer EK1 thread, I was waiting for 2 EKII's to arrive. They came in today so I'd like to share with you all. I think one is S&L but I have no clues to the marker of the other. If you've any ideas please do post them. First up, what I think is a S&L.
    18. Chaps, Thanks for the comments. One thing already noted by Steve is what looks to be cooper plating beneath the enamel. While the core is magnetic is does seem unusal that the iron would be plated before painting but as you can see, it does appear to be the case! Rich
    19. Steve That's a nice Polizei DD. Nice example of the toned decal that many mistakenly believe is a gold decal for the fabled water police. Rich
