    1. These are some great photos. I like the last one the best. Amazing how they could wear the screwback orders overlapping one another!
    2. Thanks Gary. What are the differences between an original and reproduction that we should look out for? Paul
    3. Gary, What are your thoughts on this belt. What traits make it stand out as a repro(if it is)?
    4. That is a great buckle, Joel. I too like a little wear on my buckles! I will share mine when I get home this evening!
    5. Hi! What is the number on the back of the Order? I cannot make it out. Nice looking piece!
    6. I am glad that you, of all people were able to obtain this jacket. The Capt could have been actually wearing this very jacket at the time of the torpedo incident?
    7. Close up... notice that there was a Roman numeral "VI" that was removed, where the "XI" is currently placed.
    8. And the mystery straps. I have yet to find these referenced anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    9. These items arrived today with my new Band Master uniform. First are the HG Officer tabs and wrapper. This set is in the best condition possible.
    10. Hi Grant, I have never seen a comprehensive book on East German Medals that was printed in English... All of mine are in German. Maybe one day!
    11. The Romanians did have some nice looking medals! I love that enamel in the Commanders' level order in the first posting!
    12. I did not know that General Manteuffel lectured at West Point! I learn something new every day!
    13. I feel that every numbered award is worthy of research. In the worst case, a certain order would be awarded for long service, but at least you have the person's name and award date. In the case of the OOG series, this is especially true as each order was most definately ordered for valor in the field. OOG was one of the Orders that was not awarded for Long service or "merit", so each citation is definately an adventure! Steen, Thank you for the web sites. I had no idea that there were so many note worthy names involved here! I will read up on them when I get home!
