Those are great! I cannot seem to find the sea rescue trade badge anywhere! Phenominal find! Also, is that an unqualifed gunnery badge next to the Radio Operator/Gunner Badge... in cloth!!! I have never seen one of those in the cloth format!

Hey Rick! Those are the two things that I thought strange as well... 1. Although I did not know that they smoke metal for that "special aged look", it looked strange to me. 2. The backing looks like something I have never seen before. After thinking about the ribbons on the bar, the configuration could be possible but not likey. If real, it would have been a real find. I bought this one some time ago from a vendor on Ebay. This one was sewn onto a work uniform with yellow thread. The way I understand it, for a brief time, this type of insignia was applied using the branch waffenfarb colored thread... No matter, this is a nice original badge attached to a period piece of cloth.
