    1. I know that if I were a sailor trapped in there, I would want to be removed, if possible and brought home on dry land! They should raise here and try to clean her up. How many WW1 era subs are available for display these days?
    2. That is why I love this stuff!! There is always something interesting and new to learn!
    3. Thanks Steve, I noticed the dark tabs too. That is what got me to zooming in on the photo. The funny thing is that the eagles on the helmets are not really visible while looking at the photo in hand. I really love these scanners! It specifically states in the "books" that medical units did not draw members for a band. I think that the waffenfarbe is black. Perhaps an early RLM unit?
    4. Now we are going to test the boundaries of this old scanner... 600%!!
    5. Here is one of the Drum and Fife Korps. Are those helmet eagles droop tail?
    6. Here we are at 400% size! Note the Musikmeister and the Jingling Johnnie. It looks like they are having a problem or discussion about something! I love the detail on these photos. Note the National Shield on the Musikmeister's helmet!
    7. Here is another great photo I have just received... It is a very detailed photo showing: Drum and Fife Corps Main Body of the Band Regular formation(Riflemen) The detail is so great that when I magnify the original photo x300, one can clearly see the decals on the helmets!! At 400X... I will show you! Here is a 150% scan!
    8. That stinks!! I hope that she did lose too much money there! How was she acknowledged? Via Teletype? That is really great. It is a shame that she does not have any photos! Paul
    9. This is amazing, Peter. There is SO much not in the books. Itis ashame that the vets are disappearing at a scary rate!! How much is left unknown... I wonder what type of special insignia she would have worn? Do you have any photos? Paul
    10. Or you can scan smaller sections of the citation, so that a larger image of the print can be posted? By the way, welcome to the GMIC! Paul
    11. That is a great one, Henry. Anyone know her specific deeds? I would love to hear some acts performed by EK2 winning women!
    12. Were most of these given to civilians without any other awards? Did they ALL have document books issued with them? That would have been a full time job for several people!! Could you imagine sitting down with a city census book making out all of these medal booklets?
    13. And here is a single Hauptfeldwebel ranked shoulder knot. Notice the two silver sliders.
    14. New stuff!! The officers board has the black underlay. As you remember, underlays were specifically forbidden but were often worn anyway. These would have been worn, one on each shoulder with Black Sonderfuhrer tabs.
    15. News Flash... I have just found in Vol 2 of Angolia's Luftwaffe series that the yellow Sonderfuhrer tabs are actually Sonderfuhrer-F, for militarized Luftwaffe Air Base Fire Department members. This militarization occurred in Jun44.
    16. Here is a nice Oberfeldwebel of the Lower Grade Career path. Notice the lack of the silver cording that is seen in the photo of the Meduim Career Hauptfeldwebel.
    17. Thanks Nesredep! Here is a shoulder board for an Administrative officer of the High Grade Career. This is IDed because of the gilt pips.
    18. Thanks for the translation Ernst. I was having a tough time getting though it. Were any of these tabs actually produced? I wonder why this uniform regulation had such an extremely short life? How long was it... a couple of weeks?
