I found this tab... does anyone have any idea what it could be? It is with a lot of original tabs that are IMHO, unquestionable. Could it be... the long sought out vet tab? It is piped like OCS tabs I have seen in the past. Please, any thoughts, insight, or comments are encouraged!

Now that is a bar! It is a shame that someone removed the "jewels" from that Ehrenspange zum Vaterl?ndischen Verdienstorden! Despite this, the bar is a one of a kind item! Nice find! Nice array of foreign medals and very hard to find East German medals! Is that a ribbon bar for a Soviet Order of the Red Star!?!?!? (3rd row, far left!) He must have been a higher level admiral!

Grant, I have never been into the 1957/West German militaria, but this is the most impressive set I have seen in that field!!! Belated congrats!!! I can hardly wait to see it with the ribbons reapplied! Paul

Thank you for posting the additional photos. Unfortunately, I believe this tunic to be a reproduction. The cut is not what I have seen in either Army or SS tunics. The construction seems to be all wrong in my opinion. Another turn off is the sloppy application of the insignia(tabs). I cannot comment on the insignia, as this is not my field of focus. (even if I did have experience with SS insignia, the photos are a little too grainly to authenticate them). I hope that I am proven wrong. Regards Paul

Is it possible to have both classes of the Iron Cross without being qualified to wear a warfare badge(pilot, IAB, GAB, or ect)of some sort?

Yep... those are the ones. I am trying to work with Bill to sort out another trade.(A few nice items that I received for a steal in the past). What was the ranking of the set you saw at the SOS? What condition were they in? I am also looking at his senior Warndienst Tabs, yet they might be a little too much!

(am I correct that the only difference is the 6-10 has a solid silver piping?) Thanks Gary, This entire stash came from Weitze. I traded him some KM stuff for them. As far as the judicial tabs, I have been looking for a representative set for some time. I have found another set of Judical Admin tabs(pristine condition) that I am in current negotiations for at this time.
