    1. Good Evening All!, Here's something a slight bit offbeat that just arrived at my doorstep this past week - a sweet little Juncker 3rd pattern ROAG badge. What makes this one different from the norm is that this example isn't in zinc, it's buntmetall - eagle and wreath, complete with the standard "SW" marking rather than the "SW68"usually found on 3rd pattern eagles. It actually appears to be a transitional hybrid if you will - a 3rd pattern eagle on a 2nd pattern wreath. I couldn't pass this one up! ERIC
    2. Yes, absolutely, and thanks for the effort on my behalf Fugpaw! ERIC
    3. Ditto here John - and especially for $2620. For those of you who would like to know what the badge looks like, Here's the badge - pics copied from Detlevs' website.
    4. Hi Mark, Not a "crude cast copy" whatsoever. The zinc is uniform throughout, and by your comparison measurements, basically the same dimensions. I agree with John 100% on the fact that it IS the typical late war setup for a zinc Assmann. The thing that bothers me is the hammering of the rivit area. To me, IMO, the eagle is a replacement. I would expect to see an eagle such as this one (marked "A" L/64) on one of the injected mold wreaths with the 1 or 2, not on a typical later war ('44) zinc wreath with the late war setup. Made with mixed parts as John states? Sure, a possibility of course, but the banged up area around the rivits, coupled with the latest known style of eagle marked with the private purchase L/64 stamping ('45) attached to a later war issued style wreath leads me to believe (my opinion of course!) that the two were married at one point in time from two separate badges. Still, an interesting piece! ERIC
    5. Thanks very much for your reply Fugpaw. Can anyone else add anything? Thanks in advance! ERIC
    6. Great little grouping there Bob! I'm happy they found their way back home to you - well worth having! ERIC
    7. Hi Guys, I'm not the wound badge aficionado by any means, and do not actively collect these, so any help with this one would be greatly appreciated. I received this WB along with a couple of other little goodies in a trade I conducted. Finding this particular one unusual, I looked around to try to find another like it, but I've not been able to locate another with a backing plate affixed as part of the badge. It seems to have a Juncker hinge/catch system, but it has no marking at all. There is a little 'vent hole' directly beneath the catch. It's pretty lightweight (18.7 grams) and is superbly made. Is this indeed a Juncker made badge, and lastly, is this some type of variant or are they common like this? ERIC
    8. That's so cool Dan - I've never seen one of those before! ERIC
    9. Hi Guys, Just wanted to show my latest ROAG addition. You've no doubt seen it posted here before by it's previous owner, but I thought it was definately worth a second showing. I'm extremely happy to have been able to acquire it for the collection. (Thanks again K.G.!) For your viewing pleasure -
