Opinoins, anyone, please! I've had this one for a long time and was never really sure about it being a good one or not. I'd like to get some collector views on this one either way. Thanks! ERIC
Thanks J, and yes, another banner year I'm proud to say! Yeah, this is one, if not the best, eagles I've personally come across on an Osang Para. I've had this badge a very long time and would be hard pressed to find another like it, especially now adays! Jeeeze, where have all the Para Badges gone? - good ones that is (Cheers Rich!) ERIC
Thank you Tim! The obverse does indeed seem to resemble Brehmer alot, but the reverse setup has me puzzled. I'm used to seeing the thin catch sitting on a big old catchplate instead of that thicker catch on a mini one. A minute difference, but not enough for me to label it a "GB" either. Would love to see a marked "GB" with this style catch/catchplate to be certain! Anybody? ERIC
I don't recognize this style at all Jim, and as for being a "WH" variant, I don't believe this is correct either. Although the obverse eagle is close, the swaz is really misformed, and the hinge and catch style are not parts I recognize as being utilized by the "WH" manufacturer on its Flak Badges. Here is a typical "WH" reverse and it's usual hinge and catch setup. ERIC
Hello Jim, I wish I could be more positive toward your clasp, but this example has some very telltale signs of casting in my opinion. I have circled the areas of my concern. I have yet to see any known and accepted original clasps cast like this. Hopefully some more of the fellas will offer their opinion on this. Sorry mate. ERIC
Thank you Richard! I must agree - when they've kept a finish such as this they are every bit as attractive as the buntmetall counterparts, but when you're as addicted to these Luft badges as much as I am, even the "grays" hold a special place in the showcase. Geeez, I'm beginning to need another 'fix'!!!! ERIC
Thanks fellas , and I couldn't agree more Jos! Yeah JTW, best conditioned FLL ROAG I've ever come across myself, so it really wasn't a hard decision to add it to the collection. This example once resided in the Littlejohn Collection. ERIC
