Here is the Medal for 25 Years of MPR, in its version awarded to foreigners, with a soviet style suspension. Ch. Pic : Dietrich Herfurth - Sowjetische Auszeicnungen 1918-1991 - 4th edition 2004.

On Mongolian awards, sorry to say I have not other reference than the Herfurt Catalogues (I have 1995, 1999 and 2004 editions), as I don't collect mongolian awards... What is described in the 2004 edition is fully in line with what Ed wrote. About the Medal for 25 Years of MPR, just to precise that the ribbon shown corresponds to the colors of the ribbon of this Medal. The book even shows a Medal awarded to foreigners, with a soviet style suspension (pic shown in 2004 edition of Herfurth). About the Medal "We Conquered", the ribbon shown corresponds to the colors of the ribbon of this Medal, according to Herfurth and other websites. Ch.

Hi Rick, I have the 2004 one. It does not have pics of Mongolian ribbons in color or black & white. Only the Soviet ones. But, it describes the ribbons' colors, and it fits with the identification above, as made by Ed. Cheers. Ch.

Soviet Afghan-War era group

I agree with what has been said by Rick and Gerd. I just would like to add the ribbon bar has been mounted in a non-professional manner (look at the ribbons). It does not prove anything... but is an usual hint of a lately "made-up" bar... Cheers. Ch. -
A useful reference for fakes perhaps ?
Christophe replied to Marcus H's topic in State, Civil Awards & Decorations
This site is well known of the Soviet awards collectors. There are here a number of good quality copies (or fakes, as they have false serial numbers). Ch. -

Soviet Moscow Parade
Christophe replied to Nick's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Rick, It is the "real one", instituted by the Government of the Federation of Russia. But, you are right, it looks like an Umalatova one who has been created 10 years ago (I think) to commemorate the Victory in the GPW. Both of them display the Order of Victory. Cheers. Ch. -

Just a remark : the AFP pic (the one below) has been taken in Berlin, not Moscow. It has been taken in Treptower Park where the "Sowietischer Ehrenmal" is located. Ch. -
Hi Darrell, Very nice collection of French medals you have here !!!! The Verdun medal is a not an official one. I think there were 6 models or types. Yours is called the "Vernier" type. Cheers. Ch.

Hi, This medal is of the 3rd Republic type, awarded from 1870 to 1951 (a record!!!!). It is obviously difficult to tell a date for it... I would say around the 1930s, but for this I would need to have it in hands... Cheers. Ch.

I support George's point. For education and understanding, saying "it's crap" is not enough... and may be easy... Could you elaborate about it ? Many thanks in advance. Ch. -
