A Capitano di Vascello (colonel) hat sure have a great quality.... you can find more here http://www.marina.difesa.it/uniformigradi/...ficiali_inf.asp I don't know if Dani is still in business. I don't find it on yellowpages :-( IP

Hi Fernando, There are many makers for navy officer cap. Unione Militare is the biggest & it had many shops in Italy. I don't know the period of the hat, I collect italian militaria only to 1945. I think it is from 70ies, but I don't have books to read about this. Unione Militare, sell uniforms & badges at different costs & this cap seems to be the most cheap (many inferior officials lend military service - conscription). The badge quality it's no good. It have a 'square' cut around the leaves, instead a perimetral cut. It is twisted & sewed bad. One of the best makers was Dani from Livorno (in this city there is the Accademia Navale), but possibly cost, for an officer, duoble or more than UM. I hope you find a war cap. Cheers, IP

Italian style - Israeli medal 1946
italianpolitic replied to Igor Ostapenko's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
Hi, Igor, I'm a Italian collector & I never seen this medal before. I collect from over 20 years. Nobody catalogue have this medal. Your item seems (but I'm not sure) italian made (has marked LB (?) & 800 for silver), the item of Haganah musum seems reissued. It has not common characteristics to the italian made medals. I'll try to find something about it. Bruno -
Nice topic. It exists 2 italian medals for Garibaldi Brigade members. I found from about 20 years, but i never seen live, only on books... Something about badges? Bruno

DDR Red Front Girls...
italianpolitic replied to Ulsterman's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
Hi everybody, I find something in my book about Red Front (Roter Frontkampferbund). The uniform that I see do not have correspondence with those of the photo also the cap (mutze). The emblem of the RFKB ws a fist on a circle and was on the mutze and the belt. It is possible that it seems the tree that you see? I post my badge to compare what you see on photo. Bruno -

Hi, I read only now this post. The badge is for Fronte Democratico Popolare (Popular Democratic Front), a political party born in 1948 in Italy, in combination from PCI Partito Comunista Italiano (Italian Communist Party) & PSI Partito Socialista Italiano (Italian Socialist Party). They loose the political election & close the front. There is many different badge of this movement (I have more of 20 types). The value is low. Bruno
