    1. Nice collection! Scott
    2. Here's a solid brass picture frame, about 4x8 inches; it weighs about 2.5 pounds (!). Scott
    3. Thanks Rick . Unfortunately, I don't recall the color of the thread on the tresse. I do recall in the hand, the "fringe" or braid was much more heavy and substantial that it looked! Scott
    4. This is an oil painting one of my in-laws owns. I took a photo of it many years back but can't recall who it is (the in-law is unavailable for comment). Can someone remind me who this distinguished gentleman is? Thanks!! Scott
    5. Can someone provide assistance in identifying these boards? Period? Rank? Prussian I assume? Thanks! Scott
    6. Here's one I have with an enameled 'Air Corps' banner beneath it. Scott
    7. Thanks everyone. I thought it was a bit odd, but wanted to be certain. Cheers. Scott
    8. I had this posted in the uniforms section, and Paul suggested I might get additional feedback if I posted it here. This example is not like any "big A" Assmann eagle I've seen - with the swaz connected by a fragile length of leg. This particular piece has already had the leg bent/cracked slightly. This is not my eagle, and these are the only photos I have. Any opinions - good/bad - on this one? Thanks!! Scott
    9. Bill - yes, a hairline crack at the "ankle". A rather fragile design, and unlike any other "big A" Assmann eagle I've seen (they usually have the legs & swaz tucked up tighter against the body to make it a bit less prone to this sort of damage). Paul - it is indeed a rich gold color. I'll post it in the badge section - thanks for the advice. Happy New Year! Scott EDIT: A big "thumbs-down" on this one. Thanks everyone...
    10. Not mine, but would like opinions on it if possible. I know some of the non-DRGM Assmann eagles make people nervous, but I've yet to figure out how to tell good from bad. All opinions welcome - Thanks! Scott

Curious about the gold border clasp on the Next of Kin medal: I thought that sort of clasp was used by Spain on their medals (?) Scott
    12. Great piece - love the design and detail. Is there anything on the reverse? Scott
    13. This is Jacques' photo - or at least it was at one time. I will remove it if he objects to me posting it here. Scott
    14. Perhaps the one in your first post is one of the period Japanese-made badges? Scott
    15. Great photo Mark - thanks for posting it. Scott
    16. Paul, I believe the image of the aircraft is meant to be a likeness of an HE-51, "The first fighter of the reborn Luftwaffe" http://www.cbrnp.com/profiles/quarter2/he51.htm Scott
    17. Whoops - I missed the dark green part on the boards . Regardless - nice set. Scott

      LA MEDALLA MILITAR

Of course - that makes sense . I'm always learning. Thank you Jacques. Scott
    19. Another great set of tab paul However, the blue farbe of the boards looks to be a shade off from the tabs (perhaps it's the lighting), and there doesn't seem to be button holes stitched in the strap part of the boards to secure them? Scott

      LA MEDALLA MILITAR

Is that be the Westwall ribbon between the EKII and the Long Service ribbons? Scott

      Thank you Jacques! Scott

      LA MEDALLA MILITAR

Jacques, what is the maker mark on the right side of the reverse? Thanks. Scott
