    1. I love these kind of pictures! Fall of '39 and all three still wearing cross-straps. All 3 are SCW vets, but haven't had their SCW ribbons added to their ribbon bars yet. Scott
    2. Don - nice haul! (although some of those look remarkably familiar ) Scott
    3. Great photos!! More! More! Scott
    4. I was the first one in the WAF forum to say I was "uncomfortable" with the bar for reasons already stated. The owner asked for comment and I gave him mine. It went down-hill from there. Could the bar be authentic? Certainly - stranger things have been authenticated. Would I enquire further if I saw this bar in a dealer's case? No. Just my opinion, nothing more. Scott
    5. Ah, the 1st class wasn't an official award - I wasn't aware of that. I'll pass on it then. Thanks! Scott (?Phaleristic Viagara?)
    6. I have this 4-place medal bar featuring an Anhalt FA cross 2nd class. Could a person with such a medal bar have earned the 1st class Anhalt FA cross as well? I'm considering buying a 1st class FA cross, but only if it will go with this medal bar Thanks! Scott
    7. Thanks Darrell! Scott
    8. What's Previtera's web address? I'd like to see the full errata listing. Thanks Scott
    9. I owned the Aux Cruiser badge before Andre. It had the finish shown when I purchased it 20+ years ago ... it didn't look messed with, but perhaps at some point it was (?) Scott

      SC Gold "900"

A fantastic cross!! And a great period photo that throws all the 'rules' out the window: post-Sep 39 and wearing a pilot badge, yet he's still got his 1st model dagger and he's still wearing the un-rated aircrew badge on his sleeve! (not to mention the unconventional placement of his DRL sports badge) It's also interesting that he earned the SC in gold and the Spanish War Cross/star, but only earned the SCW campaign medal, and not the Military Service Cross nor the Military Medal... Scott
    11. Some great Luft cloth flowing here! One of my favorites is this cord-stiched NCO eagle. I had to crop it way down - but I think there's enough left to enjoy. Scott
    12. Very nice collection -- all quality stuff! Scott
    13. Great photos. Interesting that the field-grade officer wears his pilot badge above his EKI, and in the family portrait, the young Luft son wears his service tunic without a shirt/tie. Scott
    14. I have a J1 pilot and P/O, and they have a completely different wreath with none of the J2 'fingerprints'. On another forum, someone posted a J2, an IMME, and one other maker (I dont recall), and they all had the J2 wreath with the infinity sign - amazing how it pops out at you when you know where to look. Scott
    15. I'd heard about the "infinitiy sign", but this is the first time I've actually seen it. Thanks for the close-up! Scott
    16. Very nice trio! Scott
    17. Best I could get of the back-side...
    18. My research indicates this little bird is ok, but I'd appreciate some un-biased feedback. I don't know if it's marked as it's tightly pinned to a piece of what appears to be original ribbon (ash & no-glow). The light was the best I could get after work. Thanks for the help! Scott
    19. It seems the eagle has ample evidence of being buntmetal under the finish, but the worn areas of the swaz doesn't show the same golden buntmetal color...? Scott
    20. I can see the picture: hinged rectangle case with LDO logo on the lid, fitted maroon flock interior base, white satin-like interior lid with two red ribbon 'straps' for the ribbon. IMO, it's a heavily aged repro Reddik case. Scott
    21. Thanks Dave - although I like Joe's definition better! Nice crosses by the way. Scott
    22. "Chuffed"?
