    1. After some lengthy delay, this group has come together. A long and not always fun story. Things are rather out of order as the research actually arrived BEFORE the group! Preliminary to posting a new researched group, could I get some guidance, please. Record Card 1
    2. Not the world's greatest image (I hope to get a better one), but so rarely do we have a photo to go with the recipient of Indian decorations, especially recipients of the lowliest ranks.
    3. Others may address this better than I, but he is surely the most self-advertised US soldier ever. A lot of self-serving fact-stretching here.
    4. There are regulations and there are policies. While there is a difference, I doubt if even in human history has either been rigirously applied.
    5. Yes, Pakistani. Hijri Medal, issued to commemorate the completion of the fourteenth century of the AH era on (22 November 1979). Quite common.
    6. I have seen the photo . . . where????? Someone . . . ?????
    7. I don't see anything wrong with the stamps, neither do others that I trust, but uniforms are a much trickier and more complex place than medals. Just seeking wisdom.
    8. I think the jury is still out, Dave, though the balance of the voting shifts. And I am not at all unhappy to host this one in my collection!
    9. Much mythology -- for which there are some less delicate terms -- surrounds Hackworth.
    10. Saw that acquisition. Very very very much :envy: :crossover: time, here
    11. Thanks, Bob!! Where is the :Chinggis Khaan Vodka: smiley thingy?
    12. On the forum, not really. I think that the researcher who will be supplying the research will include (English, Russian, or German) translations as a matter of course, at least from Cyrillic (findig someone with good enough bichig these days isn't easy. but it is hoped that these sources will be included as well). It is unlikely that we'll see full (Soviet-style) recommendatiosn and service files, though, at least not soon.
    13. Thanks for adding the image, for the record(s). While perhaps over-cleaned (by the recipient?), this is a nice 'un. In all likelihood, it will wind up in Canberra, either by auction or by legal intervention.
    14. Very tricksy, Chris. Show the obverse of a 1914-15 Star and ask us to guess the naming on the unrevealed reverse. Ahhhhh . . . .
    15. Research efforts (via Alexei) have come up empty. The quest for knowledge continues.
    16. A quest for further research results (via Alexei) have come up empty. Alexei feels the photo, stamp, and signature are not good.
    17. Hummmm . . . working on it working on it . . . . PMs may follow.
