    1. Ohhh . . . how I wish I had the earliest one. Negotiations proceed, slowly.
    2. In the next edition, Battushig will be including the real names (in Mongolian) and new linguistically accurate translations.
    3. Agreed, I think the intent was that the pentagonal (vs. hexagonal) shape would make it visually distinctive. Not sure they succeeded. Interestingly, this is the award being discussed most frequently for termination.
    4. In an effort to breathe some life back into the forum, thought I'd share some eye-candy of major types. No first type (yet); sorry (I really am!). And ignoring the numbered awards for subsequent awardings. Serial numbers: 323 / 1867 3194 (pinback) / 5607

    8. Brendan, Many thanks. Though far FAR outside my collecting field, it takes courage -- personal and financial -- to admit uncertainty over a group such as this and then to struggle with eBay to pull a dubious group. So sad that so few would bother. These, like so many, too many, items seem to be becoming such a minefield that massive care is required. Thank you for caring enough to take such care.
    9. All I have is a VERY poor quality image from the Russian book (the authors' names slip my mind, sorry). Have asked for better images. This is all I have.
    10. Thanks, Chris. Very close to drawing all this (and more) together into a (large) journal article. But for whom, OMRS or OMSA? Difficult to say.
    11. So, Rick . . . Anuvad kar dijiye? Or, as I vaguely recall, Ubersetzung bitte?
    12. Wish I did. I, too, wait . . . .
    13. No, Christian, the website in Belgrade has nothing. Nothing at all. Nothing. Really. Don't even bother looking. Please. He has nothing at all. Really. Nothing.
    14. Yes, ons of my favorites too. See: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=7339 where I show mine, cased etc., but still seeking one with document. Almost as much fun (and history) as the Medaille f?r die Teilnahme an den bewaffneten K?mpfen der deutschen Arbeiterklasse 1918-23 -- mine at http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=7338 also cased etc., but documented set still to come
    15. Have now (happily ) completed the herd. Type 1 (medium blue sky) Type 2.1 (light blue sky, no enamel on leaves to right) Type 2.2 (light blue sky, green enamel on leaves to right)
    16. Thanks for that. Such badges fall beyond the fringe of my knowledge, though when I see interesting things, I often snag them.
    17. Polar Star? The enamel was always enamel (or goofy paint under plastic) never cloth, the post-1961 was cloth. Sorry, not clear what you are wanting to see?? For comparison:
    18. Congratulations to all for the ongoing success of not only a large, but a high quality edudational thread!
    19. Oh yessss!! I was struck by how popular sumo seems to be on Mongolian TV, it is seen as similar enough to Mongolian wrestling to hold some viewer interest.
    20. Interesting question. How does one evaluate specimens of a unique piece that is seen all the time?
    21. A North Korean badge for North Korean-Mongolian friendship. Also posted over in the Mongolian forum: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=10220&st=80
    22. Not really Mongolian, but a North Korean badge for North Korean-Mongolian friendship. Also posted over in the North Korean thread: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=845&st=81
