It is the "Milit?r-Sanit?tskreuz" from Hessen. The 1914 model with the red-silver ribbon. There was also a version with the same ribbon like the Bravery Medal for frontline merits. This one was for service at home.
Fantastic medal-bars! About Claudios IR 102 medal-bar in this post: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?s=&showtopic=3...indpost&p=36770 I have this medal-bar and I think it could be from a member of IR 102 too. What do you think?
But the CoL has white stripes on red. This is my 1918 model with swords. Ok, the stripes are too narrow... I also think it is something from Hessen on the ribbon bar. Maybe the Sani-Cross.
Today in the news! Connie and Ingo Gratzik from Paderborn were shot this morning in their house. After that the bodies were burned and unknown items from his militaria collection stolen. http://www.wdr.de/themen/panorama/brand02/...aus/index.jhtml http://www.fuldainfo.de/page/include.php?p...f4706debf898918 http://www.presseportal.de/polizeipresse/p...y.htx?nr=756947
I think there are about 100000000000000000000 single War Merit Medals 1939 around, but this is maybe the third big medal-bar in 5 years on which I see a mounted KVM 39. -EKII with high detail stamped iron core, maker "R" (large ring) and a "g" at the small ring -Sachsen Friedrich-August Medal in Silver (real silver) -Hindenburg-Cross (maker R.V. Pforzheim 18) -KVM 1939 made from bronze (no maker)
