Soviet order of Glory....
Bryan replied to Chris Boonzaier's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Fabulous order. I'd like to have a well worn order like this with the booklet! -
If the Nevsky set was complete, it would be a fantastic group. Your award is beautiful even alone without the rest of the group and both orders have a nice story behind.

Soviet My Defense, Capture and Liberation medals
Bryan replied to Hauptmann's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
The Odessa medal is damn expensive for a single medal. I don't have it, becauser I always prefered to put a huge amount of money in one order rather than in a single medal. I don't know what to do. They sell for around $320, I think. -

Soviet WWII Soviet Medals & Insignia from the Ukraine
Bryan replied to ehrentitle's topic in USSR: Soviet: Other Militaria
As long as I know the Ukraine has similar laws as Russia concerning exports of WWII medals. It is suppose to be illegal. I also heard it is complicated to export medals from Ukraine to Russia. Concerning the prices, I guess it is the same as in Russia. No big deal to do today. -

And here are more trains insignia. Sorry to fload this thread.

Here is the one I have in my collection.
-
I know that this type was used on trains. I'm not sure about yours. The seller told me they were used on trains, but I don't thnik so. Yours is different than the one I could buy in Moscow. It looks like the hammer and the other tool (what is the name in english) is in 2 parts. The oldest version is in one piece.

I was in Moscow last week. I say the heavy version for sale at 3000 RB and the light version (like yours I guess) for sale at 2000 RB I guess. Here is the pictures of both.

Soviet My award groupings
Bryan replied to Paul R's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Lucky guy Paul. So if you started in 1992, which means you were at the good spot at a great time. It must really be the flash of the camera in that case, if we have the impression the ribbons look new. Thanks for the explanations. -

Soviet Soviet Submariner group
Bryan replied to Khyber's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Some people are very lucky out there! -
It has been now 2 years that I collect Soviet medals. I have nothing very special, but I like what I have been able to buy during the last 2 years. I hope it will be better when I will graduate and start working for real. The Soviet medals are the core of my medal collection. I also collect WWII helmets. ---------------------------- Soviet medals collection: http://www.flickr.com/photos/61029342@N00/...180866582/show/ Yugoslavian medals collection: http://www.flickr.com/photos/61029342@N00/...250076885/show/ You can click on the pictures to get them on there original size. Soviet German-Russian Museum Berlin-Karlshorst
Bryan replied to Bryan's topic in USSR: Soviet: Other Militaria
I can't really answer you, but I have to say that many Soviet orders looked very crude to me, but it is still a very interesting museum to visit in Berlin. -

Christophe, would you say that today's MRLS are used by country that may not have a very strong air force. So they used MRLS to replace kind of plane bombardment. Or am I totally wrong?
