Persia - Order of the Lion and the Sun
JapanX replied to drclaw's topic in Middle East & Arab States
I`d say the closest (by iconography) will be Saniolmamalek, Tegran. Another known variation from Saniolmamalek. -

This is strange. Even reverse clearly states that badge was made by C.F. Zimmermann from Pforzheim. Do you have a better pictures of obverse and reverse (where suspension is fully visible)? Any aditional marks (like Silber, 900, etc)? -

This is for example rays at badges that was made by Ibrahim workshop. Sorry Ali, I don`t recall seeing eight ray breasts stars with stars between the rays. -

Hi Ramin This is strange. Only two years ago you wrote I am afraid the pin also looks like later replacement. + it is too short All breast stars of Aftab order have stable design features. Even unique breast star without stones from Spada collection. -
Persia - Order of the Lion and the Sun

Great info, Ali. Regarding this order we have an old thread Because this is not a very authentic piece. The base of the star is from the lion and sun order but the central medallion belong to Aftab order https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_Aftab This one is authentic but the class but I am not sure about the class. For identification of the actual classes of such stars we need original statues of the order from different time periods. Do you have an access to them? Best, Nick -

Doc was issued to Яков Маркович Брегман/Yakov Markovich Bregman Владелец сего имеет право носить и хранить пистолет системы Веблей-Скот/The owner of this document has a right to carry and keep Webley-Scott gun Original doc was issued on the letterhead from Начальник Киевской Столичной Милиции/Head of the Kiev Metropolitan Police Then it was crossed out and stamp added that reads Киевский столичный атаман/Kiev metropolitan ataman The stamp at the photo reads exactly the same. So they used old unissued form to fill their current needs This is how typical imperial russia gun permit looks like (Dvinsk, 1907). Regarding Webley & Scott. Original advertisment. -
October Revolution Order
JapanX replied to GODISHIGH's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Original. Nothing special. Ordinary piece that you will find anytime. anywhere. Btw, I woudn`t recommend to buy anything "soviet" right now. Wait a little bit. Most likely prices will go down once again. -
Infantry. Private 2nd class. 竹内榮次 - Eiji Takeuchi Sorry, but sticked papers are barely readable for me.

They're not mine Owain, but groups from my data archive. Glad you liked them. Everything is possible of course. Even iron cross in the british group. But we have 1st class Danilo in the very same group where we have lower classes of russian imperial orders, 5th class legion, 4th class crown and a few british medals from 30s/40s without any orders. It doesn`t even matter who was recepient (diplomat, religious figure, traveling salesman, etc.). The real question - how he could get 1st class of Danilo (presumably somewhere around ww1) but only lower classes of other orders at the same time (or even later). 1st class Danilo is not exactly a trinket. One really must keep up with his social status (or military rank) to get one. Again a few groups to illustrate my point. This is 4th class Danilo in a group that belong to temporary lieutenant-colonel H. L. “Ham” Riley, Rifle Brigade (awarded somewhere around 1917). And here we have 2nd class that belong to temporary major general J G Legge, 2nd Australian Division. 1st class Danilo? Curiouser and curiouser ...

Royal Household? But 15 years gap (at the very least!) from russian imperial awards to the first british awards?! In addition we have russian orders (not medals "for zeal" which is more typical for such groups) and no british orders in sight. Plus there no national royal household medals (only national orders) in sight which is again very atypical (if at all possible) for such groups. To illustrate my point.

Sorry, it`s barely readable for me. Judging by the label inside the case this badge was made by Suzuki workshop.
