    1. What a cold thing to say!!! Vodka shots?
    2. Yep. 1st, 2nd and 3rd classes have completely gilded rays. 4th, 5th and 6th clases have four bunches (6 rays in a bunch) of rays (on 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock) gilded. 7th, 8th and 9th clases don't have any gilt on rays.
    3. By these photos looks ok to me. Issued somewhere between July and December of 1943. This one belongs to the pentagonal bar ;)
    4. I think everything is ok with this tiger (in the sense that it is made in silver). Simply heavily patinated silver Second layer (rays) has typical for gilded silver patina.
    5. ... and if they reply "Of course YES"?
    6. Holy smoke! $9000.... This price tag is certainly for men of courage Semper Fi!
    7. Yes, they are. Let me put it this way: medals for bravery and for military merit are "general awards" (i.e. both army and navy) while medals of Ushakov and Nakhimov are "specialized awards" (i.e. strictly for the navy).
    8. According to the statues yes (orders for "офицеры Военно-Морского Флота" and medals for "матросы и солдаты, старшины и сержанты, мичманы и прапорщики"), but it doesn't make them interconnected Order of Ushakov = navy order of Suvorov Order of Nakhimov = navy order of Kutuzov Medal of Ushakov = navy medal for bravery Medal of Nakhimov = navy medal for military merit
    9. Experts? Why? "Red banner order" is actually Guards badge that was introduced during war. Order on the left of the Harp is Order of Great Patriotic War (most likely 2nd class). This photo was made no earlier than in 1943 (shoulder boards were introduced this year). Most likely somewhere around 1945 ... Now let's wait for this rug expert ;)
    10. 14. But what are the chances that a) our boy is ethnic german from baltic province (he sure doesn't look like one) b) he was in the right age to served in the army during WWI c) after the end of war he stayed in soviet Russia (or he stayed in baltic province and was drafted in late 30s by "liberators"?) d) he kept his harp through all 20s, 30s and 40s Sounds like a screenplay for another hollywood blockbuster ....
    15. A russian in German or Turkish army during WW1?! Seriously? P.S. I wonder how old he was during 1914-1918
    16. Medals and orders of Ushakov and Nakhimov were absolutely independent and all-sufficient awards. Same thing with two classes of Ushakov and Nakhimov orders ;)
    17. Most likely he borrowed these three RS too Self-made hero
