    1. Dear Forumites, i own this serbian royal household medal 1st class with crown (silver/gilt). I have some quesions about this decoration: -who got this medal and whatfore? -what rank or function was neccessary to get this award? -how rare are they? regards josef (haynau)
    2. @Chris, I have a bit of information about the von reisingers. if you have a first name aswell i can check my datas. josef
    3. Normaly the were worn by men, but we can ask Carol I about his rings diameter. IMHOit is socalled patriotika, rings, brooches etc bought to express overhelming patrotic feelings. On the rings for the gold for iron campaigns that i know thre is alway engraved gold gab ich f?r eisen. Haynau RINGS
    4. I'am shure the ring depicts Franz Josef AND Emperor Wilhelm (btw he has birthday today). The soldiers in the first picture shown wear PICKELHAUBEN an absolutely clear indicator for imperial german army and in case of reading of this rings mesage - imperial german participation. so this is a typical alliance-ring (waffenbr?derschaftzs-ring)from 1915 haynau
    5. Hi gordon, the enammelled crowned cross is a Spendenabzeichen f?r das Bulgarische Rote Kreuz 1915. You could buy it for a donation to the bulgarian Red Cross in 1915. unfortunately i didn't ID the sub-badge though i hve seen it several times. haynau
    6. IMHO the beadge with the U is a donation badge for the Austrian Unterseeboote (submarines). but i will try to look it up aswell. regards haynau
    7. Hi Gordon, the badge is a bulgarian red cross decoration (badge). unfortunately i don't know more about it. i have to look up my old catalogues at home. regards haynau
    8. Die tiroler Erinnerungs- und Verdienstmedaille 1797 was given to those members of the tyrolian contingent that showed bravery during the fights against the invading french troops. there are known two ultrarare types of goldmedals (diameter 39mm/25 gramms and 35mm/21gramms) for highranking officers (large gold medal) and officers (small gold medal) and the normal silvermedal (39mm/18gramms) for NCO's and some soldiers. sorry i have no numbers of awarded medals. The ribbon, i never saw one, is described as 30 mm wide, yellow with three 7mm wide black stripes and yellow edge-stripes. haynau
    9. Hi Jybo, what medal do you mean: The Tyrolian Medal 1797 (reverse DEN/TAPFEREN/VERTHEIDIGERN/DES/VATERLANDES/MDCCXCVII) or the Medal for lower Austria 1797 reverse (DEN/BIEDEREN/SOEHENEN/DES(LANDESVATERS/DANK/MDCCXCVII) haynau
    10. first, i'am absolutely no expert with soviet Decorations. second, one thing i want to add. Funny that the ink on the documents looks like it was written yesterday and not 60 years ago. just my 2 cents haynau
    11. Dear Forumites, in a german forum their is a discussion abbout some orders that are sold via ebay germany (there was thread in the GMIC abbout a lippe-detmold leopold-order from the same seller) I'am not so much into REO that i could say this star is a copy. but a collectors-fried is quite shure it is an piece after 1918. any opinions are wellcome. REO Star on ebay hanks haynau
    12. Thanks medalnet, thanks yankee, again i learnt something i hope i will remember. haynau
    13. Bad news red eagle. i'am sorry. i watched this auction on ebay germany. is there a possibility to give it back or for a refund? haynau Zeige sells one in his coming auction: Leopold-Orden, 3. Modell mit Schwalbe auf goldenem Stern, 1916-1918. Kreuz 2. Nr. 55 I-II ? 3000.00
    14. Thanks Rick for looking, what a pitty that you don't have the descriptions. So the ?M2K sold at thies belonged also to Kannengiesser. it was sold for a weird price aswell 2500 euro the womens decoration you mentioned should be the shefkat-order, also sold at thies this time regards josef (haynau)
    15. In the last Thies-Auction two turkish Go-Sets werde sold that belonged to General Kannengiesser No 117 boxed Medjidie-GO-Set with Swords (knocking down 7000 Euro No 115 boxed Osmanie-Go-Set with swords (knocking down 6000 Euro My Question: Can somebody look up kannengiessers turkish decorations? Has he got a Medjidie Grandcross-Set with swords or a GO-Set with swords? The medjidie-Go-set shown in the catalogue ( No 115) looks for me like an Grandcross-Set (1. Class). The breaststar shown in the catalogue measures 105 mm-diameter much to large for the normal GO-Breaststars (75 or 85 mm) I know. So i suppose i could be an GC-Set. The sash-badge is no indicator the turkish gave often 3rd Classes (Neck-Decoration) as sash-badges. i have the same set without box but plus Sash and I bought it as Grandcross-set. thanks in advance Josef (haynau)
    16. @chris i hope yours looks better than mine. mine seems to be a fake (cast). the copies cost about 10 to 30 USD. an original in velvet case should bring IMHO arround 350+ euro. josef (haynau)
    17. Hi Paul, as far as i know the crown order was the entry to the prussian order-system, and was akind of all-purpose-order for civilians, beaurocrats and officers. for military deeds in wartime i could be given with swords attached. josef (haynau)
    18. Today the postman brought this little beauty. An Crown Order 3rd Class in Gold, 2nd Modell with large Crown. The seller didn't mention any makers mark but to my surprise i found the mark H&S on the cylindre. A mark that belongs to the company Humbert&Sohn that produced in Berlin from 1799 to approx. 1865. I got the info from medalnets Homepage LINK 1864 the crown order changed from the 1st modell (small crown) to the 2nd Modell (large crown). Humbert and Son stopped producing around 1865. So i guess my CO belonged to the 1st series of new made CO of the second modell. It must be very very rare with this special Makers Mark of a company that produced the 2nd Modell only for approx one year. The box backes this theory. It has the old catch see pictures. I hope my analyzis is correct but if i overlooked something please gimme a hint. regards Haynau
    19. As far as i know from and catalogue this Badge is a Brosche f?r die Ehrenjungfrauen beim Empfang des K?nigspaares in K?nigsberg am 11. November 1861 (made of silver). described as rare. value via pm or public as you want. In english a brooch for the honor-vestals at the reception of the royal couple in k?nigsberg in november 1861 regards haynau
    20. Sorry Paul, you are completly wrong. This to guys belong to the mysterous two tengu-regiments, (tengu = goblin) of the imperial japanese army raised in 1942. the tengus were created from very very small japanese soldiers that came from the alpine areas around the socalled japanese alps (Hidaka Sanmyaku). The main city there is Toyama, the highest mountain is the Yariga (3 180 mtrs.) This goblin-soldiers were combined in 1942 and transfered early 1943 to northern china to face the kuomindang-army. the had a special task: the chinese tactic in rough area was similar to that of the vietcong later in the 1960is. the chinese forces hid in a tunnel-system and practised some kind of hit-and-run-tactic. therefore the tengus have been raised as trouble-shooter. the soldier with the large gun is an socalled tai-pikachu (big thunderbolt). his task is the first shot in the hidden tunnels. the foto shows the monument for the tengus in toyama regards haynau
    21. I'am austrian and I have this problem aswell. I guess this uniform belonged to a Feldmarschalleutnant (Lieutenant-General). LINK haynau
    22. Are you sure, maybe it's another slippery road maybe it is unpolite, but were this twwo bauties very expensive im comparism for example to the 1700 euro sauer militaria asks for a schwarzlose? anyway i would take a spandau aswell, no doubt about that, so for the last time cheer and Haynau
