    1. Well, just a small update. Kind of "find the differences between this one and the pic posted on Post #1 of this same thread" game Dolf
    2. Ribbon bars and Friendship Badges Display. Dolf
    3. Or this one, from the Tintin book "L'affaire Tournesol"... Dolf
    4. And now a T34/76 of the 8th Tank Army, during the Battle for Stalingrad. This one is a Corgi 1/72 scale model. Dolf
    5. Well, both these are indeed die cast metal kits, but I find them nice anyway. First, a T 34/85 of the 7th Guards Tank Army, Eastern Front 1945. A "Forces of Valor" model, not 100% sure as I didn't keep the original box, but I suppose it's a 1/32 scale model. Dolf
    6. Dan, Yes indeed, I recently watched one of these about tanks, where they place the best tank ever (my favorite tank anyway ), the T 34, in 3rd place if I'm not wrong Not sure if in the same series (probably not but I rarely pay attention which channel I'm watching), anyway also watched a similar one for "The best 10 cars" (or something like that), where my dearest Citro?n 2 CV is (only) considered the 5th best ever (See pics. Isn't it beautiful? ) Dolf
    7. Thanks Rick! A naval Lieutenant then!... Oh boy, I'd be 30 years younger and I guess I'd... join the Navy... Dolf
    8. I have no idea, Darrel! Andreas is the one who has a fantastic sharp eye to detect all these microscopic details Apparently mine has those "noses" Andreas mentions above, and apparently larger rivets on the reverse too, as you mentioned, but I just don't know why others look different! Yeah, hope Alexei will be able to help, that would be great! Dolf
    9. Order of Victory, No way! I also have XP in english, and I do have that option. Unless it's a question of Professional XP or other types of XP, I have the Professional one and it works, so I just don't know! Anyway, when you right click on a pic, there is a list of things you can do, right? Well, the 4th in the list is Resize Pictures. If you click on that option, a small window will open where you can opt for the kind of resize you wish, those 4 I mentioned above. You just have to check the option you wish and then OK, and the resized pic will appear on your folder. Dolf
    10. Thanks a lot Paul. Apart from Shishkov & Muzalevsky, and of course the Mondvor site (but both the long time it takes to download and the fact it's in Russian don't really help... ) are there any other data bases where to check for these dates of issue?! Thanks again, Dolf
    11. Easy If you have Windows XP you can do it by right clicking on your original pic, then choose Resize Pictures and opt for one of the 3 or 4 available options, Small, Medium, Large, or Custom. Or, if you have Photoshop (which is what I use for that kind of things) you can also resize your pics with it. Another option is to email the original pics to a kind member here who will gladly do the resize thing for you, but I guess it's always better to learn ourselves how to do it, just mho. Anyway, as you don't have pics now I hope it will help for later when you'll have your Medals back. Dolf
    12. And the reverse. Apparently it has also been proudly worn by the original owner! Dolf
    13. One of the most complex designs on Soviet Orders indeed! Here is mine, S/N 5099. Any idea of a possible date of issue? According to Shishkov & Muzalevsky, # 4555 would date from 1979, then they jump to # 6405-21172, from 1981. Should I conclude that mine is from 1980? Obverse. Dolf
    14. order_of_victory, I guess you forgot to attach the pics Dolf
    15. Thanks Doc. Both Variations are in pretty good condition, I just them And as you can notice from the marks on both reverses, both have been apparently proudly used by the original owners! Dolf
    16. One of my favorite Soviet Orders! Lovely design, imho My Var.1, S/N 17760. Obverse. Dolf
    17. Well, another one, the only one I have in my collection. T3, S/N 42114. Obverse. Dolf
