    1. Hello Stephen has e-mailed me to say that the deluxe version is $165 and the standard version is $124.95, both plus $12 shipping, (I assume the shipping charge will be higher for overseas). He is taking advance orders as of now.
    2. Hello Welcome to the forum. I see there's no need to mention how addictive these EKs are. That's a good collection you have there.
    3. Hello I don't like this one. I know that Schinkel EK1s don't come along every day, but save your money for one that is right.
    4. Hello Welcome to forum - and to the addiction that is EKs.
    5. Hello I have searched all the lists of EK manufacturers, and reference books and can find no mention of these two companies as makers of EKs.
    6. Hello Bill, Douglas, many thanks for this. Very informative and interesting. Good to see the variations of the ring markings as often the reference books only show one type which sometimes leaves you wondering if the mark is genuine or not, even if the EK is. Many thanks.
    7. Hello I'm looking for a copy of a small booklet by Jamie Cross and Gordon Williamson entitled 'Collectors Guide to 1957 Pattern German Awards'. If anyone has a copy that they will sell, please PM me. Many thanks.
    8. Hello Yes, about 60seconds in Goddards Silver dip, rinsed and then very carefully dried using a variable speed hairdryer to ensure all the moisture was removed.
    9. Hello Dave You had better look at the photos I've just added to my previous post.
    10. Hello Thanks Dave. I have checked this one out against some '76' and it is a perfect match. The dealer sold it as a '16', and even under a loop it looked like it was '16', but with the top of the '1' and the '6' missing due to where it had been stamped. It was only after I photographed it and posted it myself and others saw it was a '76'. Still, as I said, another one of the list of EK manufacturers that I need to get. Oh, I know a lot of collectors will scream in horror at this, but having made certain it is a genuine '76' I have given it a very gentle, mild clean. And boy am I glad I did. The attached photos are of the same cross from the top of this thread. Far from having any detrimental effect it has brought out the true condition of the cross.
    11. Hello I've had chance to compare this to an L/11 marked 57 EK1 that I have, and I'd say they match. So I reckon this is an unmarked 57 Deumer piece.
    12. Hello I agree. As has been said, some will be genuine WW1 or earlier items 'enhanced' with a fake makers mark to try and get a better price, while the out and out fakers will start producing fake EKs with equally fake markings. It's already happened with the Third Reich stuff, so it's only a matter of time until hits the Imperial stuff.
    13. Hello Nice EK. Thanks for showing. I don't think that, outside of photos in reference books, that I've seen one of these before.
    14. Hello A very nice, and unusual case. If you ever get fed up of it, I could provide it with a good home
    15. Hello It now appears that this is a '76' EK2. I've found a couple of photos of '76' EKs and this one appears to match them, but if anyone here has any decent shots of a '76' I can compare it to could you please post them. Since I don't. or rather didn't, have a '76' in my collection then this is ok. Another maker of the list.
    16. Hello I've just received this 57 EK1. It is of three piece construction and has what appears to be a war time pin, hinge and catch assembly. The frame is of good quality, with well silvered rims. As usual, any comments or observations appreciated.
    17. Hello I have recently received this EK2 maker marked '16' for Alios Rettenmaier. The cross has a magnetic core and is of three piece construction. However, I'm not convinced that this is a genuine '16' EK2. I feel that the ring stamp may have been added at a later date. All the '16' marked EK2's that I can find anywhere have a stamp and not an incuse mark. In turn that leads me then to doubt the authenticity of the whole piece - although I can't find any fakes that seem to match this one. Can anyone help with this, as if it isn't a real '16', (regardless of whether the EK itself is a genuine piece), I will return it to the dealer I bought it from, but I need to know very quickly so I can return it within the inspection period. Many thanks in advance.
    18. Hello Richard Many thanks for that. I now have set of the stands on the way.
    19. Hello Absolutely super cross you have there Richard. Where can I get the stands from that you photograph your EKs etc on ?
    20. Hello That is one very, very nice and desireable cross. As you are not an EK2 collector, could you please resist these in future and instead tell me where they are
    21. Hello That double EK is just fantastic. I have never seen one like it before. What a super piece.
    22. Hello As has been said, please post some full on, closer in shots of the front and back. Case looks ok from what I can see, but you need someone like Marcus Hatton for an expert view on the case.
    23. Hello Thanks for the comments. No, unfortunately it didn't come with a case, but I had a WW2 issue EK case which it is now living in - just to help ensure that it stays in this condition !!
