The story is unravelling. The fraudulent person has left so many clues it's not even funny anymore. Will be making a rather long post with all the evidence in the coming days. There's a rotten apple which needs to be called out and kicked out.

By the way, follow-up question - is this a Knights badge OR actually an Officer's badge? In Artan's book the gold colored badge is indicated as "Officer" and the identical badge but in silver is referred to as Knight.

That exact badge and exact pic were used by a fraudulent ebay seller recently... Checkout dealsmongol and the feedback he has received... Item 290998185415 And the fraudulent ebay seller is using a second pic with identical background which has not been posted here... Busted!

I'm very happy with it - and obviously indeed looked under the pad straight away but nothing there. Acquired it in Germany. The ribbon is done in an Austrian way?

Republic of Cuba Book: Guide to the medals and insignia of Socialist Cuba
Bob replied to zaivars's topic in Republic of Cuba
Anybody with feedback on this book? -
He's making it too easy... his initial purchases on this account were probably filters for a motor cycle. Let's see... Mongolia, motor cycle, knowledge of mongolian awards... never mind his dumb errors to initially share his real name. All in all quite easy to figure out who was behind it - same person who played eBay "games" in the past. It's nice to know the fraudsters are getting DUMBER

The 3 red banners are pics of items in the hands of a Russian The soyombo group is in Ed's hands The documented red banner was readily available at a UB market just this morning (despite the item being listed as being in Korea right now) The hero (and 3 red banners) were stolen from the national history museum in 2006 In communication with me the seller used 4 different names... to start with he (in error) used what i believe is his real name... somebody we know who sold items several years ago and was kicked off ebay for bad practices Based on the low bids, quite a lot of people must be reading this and another forum where this is being discussed

http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/13222-commercial-sources/ Very strong suspicion now as to who is behing the "games" currently on eBay

Very strong suspicions that the person behind this is at it again, but doing even worse things... http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/20900-banzragch-es/page-2#entry568231

The seller has posted more rare items. Photographs "ripped" from others. The red banners and hero were items stolen from the National History Museum. Stay clear of this seller or you'll lose your money and get nothing in return for it.

And here's another badge (among quite some nice larger pieces) also seen at Militalia. Pic is not very sharp (mobile phone...) but appeared to be for Italian army in Albania. 400 euro was a bit too much!

Not the right thread, but nowhere else to put it: an Albanian ring from during King Zog's time. Seen it at Militalia today.

Nice quality.

Albania - COLLAR OF ALBANIA and ORDER OF SKANDERBEG.
Bob replied to Zaim Qyteza's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
Speaking of the Order of Skanderbeg... I was visiting Militalia in Milan today and while a rather corpulent German was standing in front of what I was hoping to see closer, i flipped through the pages of an auction catalogie (also available online) - can anybody provide some clarity on what this exactly is? http://coins-la-galerie-numismatique.com/auction-xx/albania/epire-noble-order-skanderberg "Empire Noble Order of Skanderberg - 1st Class Set. Sash Badge, silver gilt, 70x43 mm, enameled, superimposed part silver gilt, enameled, original suspension ring. Breast Star, silver partially gilt with brilliant cut rays entirely repierced, 70 mm, central medallion silver gilt, enameled, reverse with long thin vertical pin and two side hooks. Superb old French manufacture. An extremely rare set, for the first time in a public sale! I RR!" More pics from Militalia (specifically Albanian items) later. -
WARNING! Somebody is trying to sell this group and the person offering it for sale is NOT the owner of the group. The person is also active on eBay and I've already had to register one "unreceived item" claim and expect to have to register another one soon as well. Can provide more details over PM.

Anybody here still in touch with Ed? I've tried to reach him through several channels but no response sofar. I've been offered this exact group for sale (minus some items) incl. documents and would like to ask Ed some questions (he's not the one offering it for sale). Thanks

Lucky me - got some scans of documents related to Soyombo nr 83 First, the Soyombo document. This gives a name and I can look up his short bio in the big blue book of award bio's. Awarding was in 1967. Second, the award document for the SB nr 561 which the recipient received at the same time he was awarded the Soyombo. Unfortunately the actual SB order went to a different buyer Third, documents for a Red Banner of Labor (3100, awarded in 1979) and a Polar Star (7860, awarded in 1976) http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2013/post-679-0-58033500-1381841886.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2013/post-679-0-93170800-1381841891.jpg http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2013/post-679-0-00715600-1381841899.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2013/post-679-0-16799900-1381841904.jpg http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2013/post-679-0-60895800-1381841909.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2013/post-679-0-71209800-1381841952.jpg http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2013/post-679-0-71408900-1381841921.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2013/post-679-0-20772400-1381841930.jpg -

That's another way to look at it:) It's an item which more belongs to him / his family than to me. I've just been the 'keeper' for the past 15+ years. I'll post an update as soon as I hear from the person.
