      Many photos of Heydrich show him wearing the Luftwaffe combat flight clasp (Frontflugspange). Here is an image with it in wear. He was also a Major in the Luftwaffe and flew nearly 100 missions on the Russian front. I do not know what type of aircraft. Mike

      A Finnish Pilot's Badge ... Homburg was with the Staff of the Finnish Air Force from April 1923 to September 1924 and worked on aerial photography projects. No doubt this was given to him in honor of that service by the Finns. Mike

      One of my favorite group pictures, this one was taken by a studio in Magdeburg. Some of the Luftwaffe "old guard". Note several PLM winners and also those wearing the Richtofen commemorative cufftitles. Bruno Loerzer in the middle. A pity I can't run this larger -- it has amazing quality, clarity, and detail.       Rick and all, I saw this beautiful ribbon bar in an old collector's home last weekend. Might buy it if the guy finally decides to. I know Rick can really narrow these things down and would appreciate it very much if you could identify everything for me and let me know. All the best for Christmas! Mike Heuer

      Many thanks, Rick. I should have mentioned the tunic is for an Oberleutnant (though pips could have been added later) and it is for a Reservist! Perhaps he never made it to higher rank and/or survived to that late in the war. This unit took heavy casualties in Russia. Mike

      Gentlemen, Does anyone have any info on a 25th Artillery Regiment officer by the name of Hans Dornbusch. I have his waffenrock, tailored and named to him in 1939. This Regiment had an interesting history on all fronts but my research material for Heer is limited. Anyone? Mike Heuer

      Paul, It's Luftwaffe. You can find period photos which feature Luftwaffe personnel wearing Army eagles. I think it was a question of getting their hands on tropical uniforms -- they needed them and used Army in lieu of Luftwaffe issue. Mike

      Paul, I would be happy to. But it will take a while. Photos will have to be re-sized to work here. It is the uniform of Generalleutnant Ludwig Keiper which, regretfully, I sold just a few weeks ago. The most spectacular Luftwaffe uniform I have ever seen -- tailored in Paris. More soon. Mike Heuer

      Garth, John, and everyone ... I have always had a weakness for the wire versions of these badges. Most of these are still in my collection and are hard to let go -- though I have been in the process of selling the collection now since April, as Garth mentions. Enjoy, Mike
