    1. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2013/post-7021-0-49321500-1358224970.pngI was beginning to wonder if I was the only one on this forum.....................One of the common tinnies I have seen and wondered if the finishes are different is the common Hannover NSDAP 1934 tag. Mine is definately a copper wash. This one looks like a bronze wash. any others???
    2. I have jumped into the Tinnie/badge(T/B) game in the last two years or so as a secondary interest. Only Third Reich era with some reference to the TR somewhere. Something I recently discovered is some were available with more than one finish. Specifically antique brass, silver wash, zinc, gold wash, copper wash, etc on metal and some plastic come in different colors. I have not seen very many examples posted showing one T/B with multiple finishes in collections. I have seen a few mentioned that were some sort of award. Just curious what all is out there.
    3. Intersting to looks at the details. His hat and belt look brand new but his uniform has badly wrinkled sleeves.
    4. With that much time in the Luft wouldn't it be interesting to know his story?
    5. has not set their status

    6. Yes, when they did away with these cats they went into other branches or if qualified could be a "pinkie"engineer. I think we have a new contender for rarest Luftwaffe uniform. Nautiker with those killer boards. I wonder how many guys would have seen that set and not kept them together?

    8. I just received a set of General-Stabsingenieur tabs that look like they were made by the same hand as Bill's in post 79. Mine have a little age toning but are still in great shape. I will post soon.
    9. Order LV40 No.569 10 May, 1940 change secondary color from golden yellow to lemon yellow. Branch color dark green. Order LV41 No. 1562 8 Oct, 1941 change branch color to pink and secondary color to light blue.
    10. Another small piece of the puzzle solved. Relating to discussions on what ranks were possible for a General Staff Officer. Gary quotes something in one of the Angolia books in an earlier post. To summarize Hauptmann through Oberst but there has been debate on Hauptmann. While looking for something else I just found another quote in Angolia Vol 1 bottom of page 159. <General Staff Corps Officers of the ranks Captain to Colonel(line officers only)while on duty with the General Staff or in duty positions accorded to general staff >..........yada yada... In short this is the second different mention of Hauptmann rank in the general staff. I no longer have doubts about the tabs I just received from Gary9 and posted in this thread. They are without doubt Carmine. I will post eventually.
    11. Where were you able to find the regulation or mention of it? I looked in the Angolia set and never found it. I found the silver being officer candidate. I am curious what everyone thinks of Gary9's tabs posted earlier. Original or repro?
    12. As is usually the case, my wife laughed when she came down in the basement to see why I was hooting and hollering. Anyone else remember any other engineer sightings in any movies or maybe news reels?
    13. Not sure what happened there. Anyway, I need a Parade Mount medal bar, Visor, blue shirt(probably use a modern), tie(probably use modern, I assume black?), white gloves if I can find originals. I have an original KC but will use my Repro KC w/oaks & Swords. Probably use repro badges also. Up in the air on a dagger or sword. It would have to be mounted in a different way with half man.
    14. I will try to complete an upper torso mannequin for a parade dress officer spectator. I have: Tunic, Aguillette, Brocade Belt, I need:
    15. Paul, your old (hand me down)GS tunic is on it's way to me. I plan on getting a manikin(I refer to them as DUDE's) with a head. I am now in search of a visor. Anyone ever seen a carmine piped LW officer visor? I would like to find one but I'm not going to mortgage my house. I assume I will have to settle for a standard white piped? Once I get that rolling I will put my wood working skills to use. I will probably build some type of wood-framed glass case. It's been quite a search. As Paul knows I tried to track down that tunic a while back. It has been through several hands in a short time but will have a nice home.
    16. Camera arrived two days ago. This evening I was finally able to take a picture. Holy Crap! The manual is 400 pages. Hopefully by the time I get back from fishing in Wisconsin in a week and a half I will be ready for Luft porn.
    17. No comment on my air brushing? I have a new camera on it's way. After about ten years of point and shoots I can't stand it any longer. In a few days real pictures again.
    18. On the boards.....white........ Herman "Munster" Goering. On the Tiger commander the proper pink made from a very thin thread. I haven't explained my packaging yet. I use photo backing board, acid free, and archival plastic bags cut to fit. It keeps each set isolated in case of critters and I write info on the boards or tabs on the back. It also allows me to keep them like a file.
    19. Panzer Band Rock, WOW, no way to miss that guy coming down the street. One display I haven't seen is a band uniform with a nice original instrument. Bob, while you are at it how about a nice tank for the display?
    20. Not to stir up anything, just meant as discussion because I don't follow the logic. If they are his pictures what could possibly be the issue? The only (realistic)legal issue anyone could have is if it were someone else's photo AND was copyrighted. This is no different than taking a picture of a badge at a show, museum, or of a person in public. If he were trying to sell it I could understand. All that aside photos used for educational purposes are not held to the same standards regarding copyright.
