I have to admit--the details do look different but that might be attributed to the difference in the amount of wear to the badges.

Interesting cross. I am only taking a guess here but I do not think this is a Wagner cross. The pin is not what I would expect on a Wagner. The picture of the core is not clear enough for my old eyes to try to match details of the crown ect. I am sure others with a little more experience will join in the discussion.

As far as I know, We still do not know the maker of these crosses.

Here is a 1 piece Ek1 diestruck from Nue-silber. A nice clean example. The rear setup is typical of the 1920's-30's hardware.

Here is another Godet screwback. This one belongs to forum member Tony (Tiger 1). I can not tell from the picture if there is any evidence of it ever having been frosted.

If you study the inner corners of the frame, they have a unique pattern to them. They are an exact match to my own 1914 Godet Ek1 and to another 1914 Godet that I was able to study. This does not of coarse show when these were made but it prooves IMO that these are indeed Godet made crosses.

Beautiful Godet screwback. I have yet to find one of these for myself.

I would guess somewhere in between. Maybe 1870-1918. The painted core gives me cause for concern as well as the 1870-1914 style crown.

I don't really know anything about pilots badges and will probably never own one but I really like this one. The sharp detail even with the wear to the high points and the dark patina. This one just has the look of quality to it.

Some beautiful crosses. While not a 1939 cross, it was produced during the TR period. My 1914 B.H. Mayer Ek1.

Is the core painted ? I am thinking a very late piece. It has a 1914 look to it.

HI Eric, So you are the one who got this one. I looked at this one as well. The cross is the typical 1920s style. Most I have seen, have the finish missing on the the beaded frame and highpoints to the crown. I like these--The look of the gold tone in addition to the black and silver is nice. Yours is in great condition. Mine is missing a lot of paint on the core as well. I do not think the screw device is original to your cross. But still a great score.

Interesting cross It is an original cross. This style is believed to have been produced in the 1920s. I have both a Ek1 pinback and a Ek2 version of this cross. Yours is the first screwback that I can remember seeing---ALSO, Friedrich Sedlatzek is a knowen maker of the Ek2 and I think this is the first Ek1 we have seen attributed to him. Thanks for posting this one.

GREAT chain There are awards on it that I have never seen as miniatures before, only full sized. I dream of finding chains with one or two enamel awards--yours looks like an enamel salesmans sampler. WELL DONE !!!
