    1. It looks even better in the case, Kurt. As you say, and as discussed, a piece that some will like and some will not, but still (IMO) a rather rare variant 'IMME' bird combined with a 'Juncker' 2nd pattern wreath.
    2. Hi Kurt, A very nice compliment to Jan's Buntmetall version. Many thanks for posting it.
    3. "I hope you have enjoyed this set." I certainly have, Bill... Very nice. I hope you'll allow us the pleasure of seeing some more of your collection..
    4. I know it's only a technicality, but I would love to know the exact date of the downing of the that ?Stuka?, in Poland, seeing that the attack was started on the 1st Sept @ 04.45 hrs and the start of WW2 began two days later after the declaration was made.. As to the downing of the ?Storch??.I bet the crew of the ?Cub? had massive smiles on their faces?..
    5. Hi Rick, De ole Gremlins at work...I'll see if I can find the thread and re-post.
    6. Hi G, Looks like the Focke-Wulf, FW-58 "Weihe" Multipurpose aircraft. Initially used for light transport, then adapted for training of pilots, radio operators/air gunners, etc.
    7. jacques, There's always been the question about von Thoma, did he receive the SC wih B, or not?

    9. Hi Rick, A very rare document and only the 2nd I've seen. Any other information on the recipient... other doc's, etc?
    10. 10/15 year NSDAP service set. The mini is stamped M12/9....Otto Schickle, Pforzheim
    11. Yet another service bar with 10 year NSDAP and 25 year faithful service awards.
    12. Here are a few links that may be of interest. http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=4845 http://www.english.uiuc.edu/maps/scw/overview.htm http://www.diggerhistory.info/pages-confli...h-civil-war.htm
    13. Sorry Wayne, but I have concerns about this badge. As far as I know, the only maker marked examples were the 1st pattern type made in aluminium.. An original 1st pat' has no beard (this characteristic came into being on the 2nd pattern ).. Your maker mark, although close, is not, IMO, an original 'Juncker' mark.. Seeing that we have some members who collect these badges, perhaps they could lend a helping hand in comparing Wayne's badge to examples in their reference files.
    14. Hi Wayne, You're right to have doubts... It's not original. The fakers have used a 2nd pattern 'Juncker' wreath combined with a 2nd pattern 'Assmann' eagle. Hinge, catch and rivets are poorly done... Not one for your collection. Below: An original 2nd pattern 'Assmann'... for comparison.
    15. Hi Wayne, Looks like a late example of a Pilots Badge by 'BSW'. I would say that the catch has been replaced but other than that...It looks OK.
    16. Indeed, a nice variant and a good example of the collaboration that went on between 'Juncker' and 'JMME'. jumping
    17. Well I finally found the disc that had the document for 'Paplitz'.. For some reason the Embassy pass was not on it...will have to keep looking for that one. Not a very good pic' but it gives us enough information, if my translation in correct, to show that he worked as an interpreter on the general staff.
