    1. Hi Arsen?.Welcome to the club! If this is from the group that appeared on Detlev?s Friday update, it has been sold. If you are lucky enough to have the chance of buying this group, I don?t think you?ll find a more complete set, easily. I wish you well with the purchase.
    2. Well the photo certainly shows a mixed unit...The front two being army.... the one in the middle, Luftwaffe.
    3. Good advice, D Although very close, there are some tell-tale signs to look out for?thank goodness! I loath to go through them all (not wanting to give this person any more tips) but one of the main signs of a high end casting is the maker mark. If you look closely, and compare the mm with an original, you will see that the mark has been captured during the casting and has not been stamped. As well as the mm not being sharp, remnants (small balls) of metal can be seen in the lines of the maker mark?this would not happen if the badge had been stamped. The main worry is the frosting! Again, not wishing to put ideas into heads? this could be problematic for the collecting community in the area of refinishing, something to consider when looking at ?Mint? pieces.
    4. Hi Naoki Looks like a very nice example?and good to see the set has its typical flock-lined GWL case. Here is another set (also with flock-lined case) that has been together since day one.
    5. Although the cross looks to be an original, the background (also found on other items listed by the seller) tells me that it may come from Carsten Staegemeir (aka:"Der Afrikaheld"). If this be the case, be very careful and ask for some detailed shots of obverse/reverse before bidding.
    6. And it brings me one step closer to completing the Flak Badge series.
    7. Just in is this early production example by Wilhelm Hobacher. Not many of these plated 'Hobacher' types about so I was pleased to find one in such nice condition. Many thanks to Kris... So, to the badge. Obverse.
    8. Maker: Peter Dan Krebs ? Solingen Model: F?hrerdegan? For wear by officers and officials of the Police. Although the sword is quite worn, it is still a desirable piece.
    9. I would agree that the sword is most likely Army. Maker details: Carl Eickhorn ? Solingen Model: part of Eickhorn?s Field Marshall series, ?"Freiherr von Stein" model #1714. An early 'dove head' example, with long blade, in very nice condition.
    10. Good morning, Jon Not an Assmann....Steinhauer & Luck - L?denscheid
    11. A classic! You did well, J. Good luck with the hunt for the FJ badge.
    12. Reverse... Even down to the same die mark on the wreath!
    13. Hi Jonathan Looks good zinc "FLL" to me. For comparison....With slightly more of the silver wash remaining, here's the same type I have in my collection.
    14. From left to right. A1 eagle, A2 wreath in nickel silver plated tombak. A1 eagle, A2 wreath - all in aluminium. Transitional piece; A1 eagle, A3 (nickel silver) wreath. A2 (aluminium) eagle, A3 (nickel silver) wreath. A2 eagle, A3 wreath in nickel silver plated buntmetal.
    15. Pilots badges. 1st pattern eagle, 1st pattern wreath.
    16. Goood morning, Mark. Missed this one?but better late than never! Let us start with that beautiful 1st pattern PO that resides in your collection. 1st pattern eagle, 1st pattern wreath.
    17. Hi Paul I?m terrible at signatures, but here are a couple of links to some background on Lehrgeschwader 1 (LG 1). See if you can match signatures with any officers mentioned here: http://www.ww2.dk/air/lehr/lg1.htm General history on the group: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lehrgeschwader_1
