    1. Other than the standard Juncker J2, You'll find J2's being used by, as you say, JMME and the firm of Wilhelm Deumer.
    2. And let us not forget the all important ?bump?. As far as mix and match is concerned. The most commonly found pairing would be the J3 eagle on a J2 wreath. I?ve come across J2 eagles on J3 wreaths but I?ve never seen a J1 eagle on anything other than a J1 wreath?Just wouldn?t look right!
    3. Ah ha!! Miller is in the house. Now we're going to see a collection to die for! Welcome Mark..
    4. Let's have a look at the scans, Doug. In particular... the pages with rank, awards and unit history if you have them.
    5. Absolutely no problems with that set, D. Very nice! Technically it?s a 3rd pattern, the one in the middle of this compilation being the 2nd. It?ll take a bit of getting used too..but yes, that makes 4 RO/AG patterns.
    6. Well, that has to be the nicest Alu' Assmann Para I've seen in a very long time! Put me at the top of the list should you ever decide to pass it on.
    7. Brian, you can never have too many! A powerful design. I can understand the obsession.
    8. What an amazing story, Robert. From a box of old photo?s at a market to what we see on your, most excellent, website. This is what makes this hobby of ours so interesting and all the work that goes into the research, worthwhile. Excellent!
    9. Don't ask me what the 1st ribbon is, but certainly a loyal "Party" member.. 10/15 year NSDAP, HJ, SA and Luftwaffe. He was in for the long haul.
    10. Well Steve, you would certainly know best having it in hand. Personally, going on the pix, I would say that it is a PB. The darkening of the bird would be the key for me. Having handled quite a few Assmann badges, in various states of condition from no finish to mint, I've never come across a P/O that has remnants of darkening under what was once silver finished. I can only think that perhaps this badge was upgraded at some point. Anyway... many thanks for the quiz. It's been fun.
    11. Knowing how much Assmann favoured the use of Cupal in their early (mainly PAB's & GAB's) badges. Could it be? The colour in the scans points to Tombak, or is that just the scan?
    12. Replaced/repaired swas...? Looks like it's made of a different metal.
    13. Well, looking at the reverse of this badge, I have some serious concerns.... Thickness of the wire used on the catch. The hinge looks close but would need to see some better pix. Rivets are not typical for Juncker, but again...better pix. Overall finish seems strange, almost like it's been artificially aged. Maker mark? Can?t make it out...better pix. If I were asked to buy this badge on these pictures alone, I would decline the offer. It?s one of those badges where I would err on the side of caution until seeing either better pix or have in hand for inspection. Time to get that camera working.
    14. It's not the "egg" shaped wreath, so could it be a double marked "AS" or simply a named piece? Let's have a look at the reverse, me thinks this is where the clue will be.
    15. I love the vaulting on that one, Don. Here's a cased example I've had for years..
    16. Hi Marc, The very best of luck with your project. I've sent you an e-mail.
