fjcp replied to Tsend's topic in People's Republic Mongolia
Found this old thread and I was wondering about the other order also... I thought something from Tuva but no match. Anybody? -

Been going through my old things and I keep finding fun stuff. First the army badge document and now this. Enjoy....I know I do. JC ps. Please forgive the coffee stains on the translation. -

fjcp replied to Bob's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Wonderful information you've been getting Bob... really amazing. -
Thank you so very much. I really appreciate you translating that for me/us. Now to find me a badge!! lol JC

That's some really great information you've been collecting Bob. Archives still closed though right? JC

Tsend, thank you very much for the info. Can you make out the date on the document and perhaps a name... Getting greedy with the favours I know... Thanks JC

Should have posted this years ago, but better late than never. Don't have my notes on me so I'll have to wait with the name and date on this document although it's probably from between 1930 and 1932 due to the latin script at the bottom. Any info is obviously more than welcome. JC C 01 doc.

Saw that one... I'm tempted!!! Lol JC

Hi Nick, I was having an old people's moment. Who knew 38 would be such a rough year. I actually meant the suspension of the RS. It seemed so far up from the actual order I thought something else was hiding back there... So RS suspension it is. JC
-
Golden grain... That's the name of the thing... I looked it up but couldn't remember. Damn 30s. What's the order hiding behind the RS?
-
Here is one I forgot to bid on.... A nice variety of orders and I believe that's a Polonia restituta around his neck......Never seen that before. Cheers JC ps. Not sure what the chinese orders are. Nick?

Cant imagine who that might be! So it looks like $2000 is where it stayed. I guess the buyer is going to be on the hunt for a ribbon. Only been a 5 year search for me with no luck. Jc

Good point Nick. What was I thinking and shame about there being no pictures. Obviously this one is rare but can we speculate on numbers issued? If the numbers in the cases are even a slight indicator of rarity, we may be talking very few indeed. Was Peterson correct in stating that this was a personal award from the Emperor? Are there any conclusions we can draw from the ribbon bar that David was kind enough to post? Nothing too spectacular on that bar other than this medal. So nobody too high ranking per se. JC Same picture again just slightly less zoomed in.

One thing that stands out with these medals is the thickness. They are considerably thicker than any of the other Manchukuo or Japanese medals I've seen/have. Also PuYi's nose sticks out quite a bit...Poor guy. Anybody have a picture of this medal being worn? Thanks JC PS. Sorry about the terrible picture.
-
Thanks for posting that gorgeous example David. The first bid is in btw. Nice upgrade for sure but somehow not tempted. JC

How thoughtful of them....

Thanks for the link... So $3000 was the selling price back then.... Nick are these "reasonable" prices?
-
So it looks like a nice one of these is for sale on Ebay...Nice medal and case but the wrong ribbon. Starting at $2000..One sold a few years for a bit more than that iirc but that had the correct ribbon. JC ps. If you happen to have a spare ribbon for one of these please give me a shout. I've been looking for one for years.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ultra-RARE-MANCHUKUO-National-Foundation-IMPERIAL-Medal-1933-JAPAN-/221360363985?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item338a1b19d1#ht_311wt_1263

Mongolia World War 2 Victory Medal # 10693.
fjcp replied to Obergefreiter's topic in People's Republic Mongolia
100% real. Doubt this one will ever be faked, course you never know. If I may make a polite suggestion. For $20 just get one with the correct screw plate. JC
