    4. Hallo Sivart. Its very possible that this picture is taken either back in Germany or very far behind the front lines, judging by the dress of some of the patients. As stated by Chip the armbands could be an indication of working for the Red Cross, or some other relevant Medical body, religious or civil. Kevin in Deva.

    8. The late Mr. Yakup Satar. May He Rest In Peace and his God be Good to Him. / Allah rahmet eylesin. Yakup Satar (Ottoman Turkish: ﻳﻜﻮﭗ ﺳﺘﺎﺮ, March 11, 1898- April 2, 2008) was, at age 110, believed to be the last Turkish veteran of the First World War. Born in Crimea, Satar joined the army of the Ottoman Empire in 1915. On February 23, 1917, he was taken prisoner by the British in the Baghdad campaign's Second Battle of Kut. Satar also served in the forces of Mustafa Kemal Atat?rk in the Turkish War of Independence, which lasted from 1919 to 1922 (it is unclear when he was freed). Shortly before his 110th birthday, he was treated for a minor infection at a military hospital before being released home, where he lived with his daughter in the Hacı Seyit district of Eskişehir.[ On April 2, 2008 he died aged 110, shortly after his 110th birthday. 9. Hallo Jasmor58 Its just not a Royal military medal, apparently it was fastened by a red ribbon, to the necks of a certain brand of wine produced for sale to the general public, It has no connection to the Bavarian Royal Family, apart from the depiction of the King on the front, the rear has details of his birth date and date of death, "N" I believe refers to his Castle at Neuschwanstein near Fussen Bavaria. After you bought the wine the "medal" could be used as a Key ring, etc..etc, it has been causing confusion for years, turning up for sale at Flea-markets, Militaria Shows, and of course on the internet. Some people refuse to believe its a common item of modern manufacture. Kevin in Deva.

    11. The Man Himself H.R.H. George V. Pictured coin is one of 5, 1d coins, (1 Penny) dated 1912 - 1913 - 1916 - 1919 - 1920 found under the floorboards of the old Guardroom, in Castlebar Military Barracks, by me during renovation work. The barracks was built 1828 and occupied by the British until being handed over to the Irish in 1922. Kevin in Deva
    12. Halo James, and welcome to the forum, fake would imply a copy of an original item, I think this could be an early example of an obviously unresearched by the maker "fantasy" piece. Kevin in Deva.

    15. Cropped Medal Area: The first cross with white arms possibly a neck order hanging from the collar (?) Swedish Order of the Sword Then a Austrian Order of the Iron Crown. Behind this is a cross, the arms can just be seen peeking from under the previous award the last medal on the bar seems to have a two colored ribbon evenly divided. Kevin in Deva.
    16. Hallo JimZ, Frustrating to say the least when you have had your eye on a particular item. Under EBAY regulations for a seller to end the sale early he must give good reasons why he did so, Ebay do not like to see sales ended early as they tend to loose their "slice of the pie". A genuine "early ending" can be brought about if the seller is unaware of the true value of his item when placing it on auction or if the item is wrongly identified. If a pattern of "early endings" with regards a particular seller can be noted any ebay member can make a complaint to ebay. In a case such as the above I would recommend saving the particular web pages showing the auction as once the auctions are over the relevant details are quickly flushed from Ebay files. Kevin in Deva.
    17. Hallo RedMaestro Beautiful item, congratulations on your find I took the liberty to highlight your pictures a little. Kevin in Deva.

    22. Hallo BJOW the reason for the stamp is to interest all the neo-nazi types to part with the dosh, specifically those who would not have the intelligence to even consider researching the subject, but just have to have the haken kreuz ss stampy thingy in their possession. Kevin in Deva
