    2. It is certainly not my intention to run down the L.O.F., however there seems to be more than enough evidence to prove they have a problem with some of their members and their members attitudes and dress conduct. As the old adage goes there is no smoke without fire. I agree also with Graham and Chris, with regards wondering how such a noble institution has ended up being in the situation it is in? Kevin in Deva.
    3. Many thanks for the additional information about this award Kevin in Deva.
    4. Hallo Iver, Welcome to the Forum a very nice piece, can you give any more information with regards the medal, history, numbers issued, to whom etc..etc.. and can you offer a translation of the document? Kevin in Deva.
    5. The modern version probably lists how to acquire medals & insignia you are not entitled too and the correct "Walting" etiquette Kevin in Deva
    6. The link leads to 0 auctions by the seller as of: 19:44 hrs Romanian time, I presume ebay pulled all the auctions after a complaint? Kevin in Deva.
    7. Many thanks for the link Ed!! Perhaps a kind moderator could move this to the linked thread?. Kevin in Deva.
    8. Hallo Gents, Just arrived today from Russia, Uzbekistan not 100% sure is it for Service to the Railway or a possible Military connection. Kevin in Deva.
    9. Another version more often seen on Parade Uniform belts. Kevin in Deva
    10. Never got round to drinking the stuff Ricky, Acute Pancreatitis set in long before I went down that road Kevin in Deva.
    11. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_11_2008/post-950-1227642254.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_11_2008/post-950-1227642274.jpg Seen some use but thats normal for items such as these, even after being officially replaced many were worn on belts under jackets etc, until replacements came in, and many ended up on civilian belts, out of sight as well. Some even being ground down so as to obliterate the emblem. The old soldier in me is finding it very hard to resits applying "Brasso" to the buckles. Kevin in Deva.
    12. Hallo Gents, I acquired these over the weekend:- Material:- Brass. Size:- 60mm X 48mm. Kevin in Deva
    13. Another piece, (picture from a online sale from a couple of years ago) origin unknown to me. Gordon info is very scarce on this organization here in Romania, as for Poland hopefully one of our Polish members might be of some help. Kevin in Deva.
    14. So far I have the Romanian, Polish, and the D.D.R. badges. actually I have a Russian version as well, although this does incorporate an aeroplane / glider in the design as does the Hungarian M H S Z badge Kevin in Deva.
    15. D.D.R. Shoulder patch found glued (upside-down) to a students schoolbag at a Gypsy Market, here in Deva, Romania, which I bought then cut the badge fabric and all to preserve the badge. Kevin in Deva
    16. Hallo Noor, rescuing lost B.W.M. medals is a Noble cause, I have picked up a couple here in Romania and one in Germany, just waiting for the long ago promised original lengths ribbons to arrive (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, hint, hint!) The value in the U.K. for example seems to be rated on who the guy was and what Regiment or Corps he was with. By the way there should be no RUST as they were not made from Iron Kevin in Deva.
    17. Badges numbered 2 & 3 are to be found here ok, thanks for the offer of keeping an eye out Kevin in Deva
    18. Hallo Gordon, Nice find please see:- http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2551...n+Tank+Insignia I believe these represent grade or proficiency in the various crew positions in the Armour Corps. I have seen them described as Tank Driver Badges, but, I have never seen a Tank Commander badge which leads me to the above supposition. I am still after a Number 1 badge, here in Romania they are priced at about 25 - 40 Euros depending upon the "dealer". No doubt with a little haggling you can get them for less. Kevin in Deva
    19. Hi Doc as this has one red stripe, in the center, its for 1 wound, sick or invalid had no stripes outlined in black. Kevin in Deva
    20. Hallo cimbineus, welcome to the forum and thanks for showing this interesting item, :jumping: can you show the whole bar its with? Kevin in Deva.
