    2. Hello The correct term in English would be "shell casings". That is an interesting stroy, and from what I have read it was a common occurance in an effort to avoid casualties for the Allies. No white flags or any sign of resistance, and they would fire artillery. What are "Kleinkaliber rifles"? Larry

    5. Hello turtle I now have the 1938 list and I am looking, it's not in alphabetical order so it is taking some time. On a different note....when it rains,it pours. I just ordered the 43 - 45 lists from NARA Larry
    6. S Bty RHA was stationed in India on the outbreak of war, and was sent to Mesopotamia in Feb 1915 where it spent the rest of the war. The War Diary is available at the National Archives at Kew in this file: WO 95/5087 "S" Battery Royal Horse Artillery 1915 Feb. - 1916 Dec. Larry

    9. In my view the Maxim machine gun would have to be right up near the top. It or one of its derivatives saw service with almost every army in the world, and had a service life from approximately 1885 to the Korean War! Larry

    16. Hello haratio My Mom and Dad christened my Laurence -spelt with a "u" instead of a "w" as Mom was Belgian and the French version is Laurent. My friends call me larry. You can call me anything you want'cept late for dinner Cats will let you know when you are not paying enough attention to them ha ha. Those would make superb RC ships I don't know enough about the navy to really comment on the ships. I do think, that for all the steel, Reich Marks etc that went into the German captial ships, they did not seem to get much in the way of return. Might have been better off using the resouces for U-Boats and panzers...... Larry
