Monsun Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Hello together, today someone offers me a complete Kriegsmarine uniform from a "Kapit?nleutnant/Arzt" (1 jacket, 2 trousers and a visor cap) and sends me the following pictures. What is your opinion? I think it looks ok? What do you think, what is a good price for it?Thank you very much for your help.Regards,Monsun

Laurence Strong Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 I don't have a problem with the brest eagle. Any chance of a close up of the visor eagle and the trade badge?
joetauchretter Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 From the pictures it looks good to me , but remember merchant marine and some early post war navy uniforms look like war time kriegsmarine issue , beware of jackets that " had the buttons fall of and were sewn back on " this is a good clue as to a non WWII vintage jacket made to look like the real item ! Some dealers even state that the buttons were sewn in a different position as the original wearer got heavier ! If The buttons look to have their original threads intact , go for it
Guest Rick Research Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Is there a name label inside the chest pocket? A career Marine-Stabsarzt might be traceable.
Paul R Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 A medical Officer too!!!! Any award loops on the jacket for badges or ribbon bars?
Michel Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 General look seems to be good. The visor cap making is atypical but not impossible, and the visor has been maybe replaced (space between the cap and the bullion).
