HeikoGrusdat Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Oh yes.....................one of the usual known suspects gets fresh material for brandnew horror creations
saschaw Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Hey, no more fakes out there on the market, or why has this thread been sleeping for more than a year?! Well, I found a new guy with thirteen eBay auctions, each with several ribbon bars, many very big ones, up to about 12 awards - in each lot. I looked closely but found NOT EVEN ONE bar that I like in all this stuff. The seller is new and is name is "apriori030", please have a look:http://shop.ebay.de/merchant/apriori030
HeikoGrusdat Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 right Sascha...................... 100% all fakes
webr55 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I don't think I have seen his style before. His trademarks seem to be too long bars, wrong catch, combination issues of course. BTW, he does not guarantee authenticity of the bars themselves, just of the devices and ribbons...
webr55 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Back:They are all offered for 95 euros. And this is not our recent Austrian guy:http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=23142
tyanacek Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 The amount of junk being sold on ebay is beyond belief. And epier is even worse. Still, every now and then a nice and real item pops up. This medal bar was listed on ebay in late 2007. Of course, the ebay police pulled it from the auction, but fortunately I was still able to buy it from the seller.Best regards,Tom
saschaw Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 right Sascha...................... 100% all fakes And he sold exactly none of his lots. NONE, not one single... You might e-mail him, maybe you get them now for 85,- euro each. ;)
saschaw Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 And he sold exactly none of his lots. NONE, not one single... And now they are back, at least some of them, offered as singles, by another seller and with quite bad pictures - and even fooled me for some minutes... http://shop.ebay.de/merchant/laratrieni
saschaw Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Thread up with this great bar. Sold some weeks ago and so not "this week's", but still... "almost certainly a General or Field Marshall!" I wonder which Wehrmachts-General had a RAO3SX on statutory ribbon... and with silver swords! One more that came from Ohio, I'd guess.
saschaw Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Found here, by the way: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370297971640
saschaw Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 No good, are they?! http://shop.ebay.de/raiki73/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340
webr55 Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Bad! Really bad! But a new style of fakes, it seems to me. Some old parts apparently - and no hand-snipped Ohio catch.
saschaw Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 And combinations (mostly) that common you don't take a closer look... These are the really dangerous fakes! Not huge, nonsense Frankenstein monsters. :speechless:
saschaw Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 http://cgi.ebay.de/grose-11-Ordensspange-Sachsen-Coburg-Preusen-Turkei-EK-/250640290321?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Militaria&hash=item3a5b535211 One more... used to be offered by our Vienna favourite seller. Now this seller's 2nd ribbon bar does not look any better... (but is not from the Vienna guy).
webr55 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 I agree - very dangerous for someone with not enough experience. This guy overdid it, though: - Saxons ribbons first: ok we are clever -- but Thuringian awards second: NOOO - no back shown - wrong device on Austrian ribbon - and what should make EVERYONE suspicious: EK device AND swords on EK ribbon! But still dangerous, yes!
Valter Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 http://cgi.ebay.de/g...=item3a5b535211 One more... used to be offered by our Vienna favourite seller. Now this seller's 2nd ribbon bar does not look any better... (but is not from the Vienna guy). ... and yet it sold for 108 €! This one is stinky for me too: http://cgi.ebay.de/kleine-Ordensspange-2-Ehrennadeln-/180514875995?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Militaria&hash=item2a07866a5b sloppy stitching, off-centered and different swords, too-new looking... what do you think? Regards, Valter
saschaw Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 sloppy stitching, off-centered and different swords, too-new looking... what do you think? Mhh, I'm not sure but tend to like it.
M Hunter Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 This one is stinky for me too: http://cgi.ebay.de/kleine-Ordensspange-2-Ehrennadeln-/180514875995?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Militaria&hash=item2a07866a5b sloppy stitching, off-centered and different swords, too-new looking... what do you think? Regards, Valter It looks ok to me. I have seen ribbon bars with 2 different type sword devices. Perhaps the camera flash caught the swords making them look "new"? In any event i think it looks good. Matt
militaria0815 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 It looks ok to me. I have seen ribbon bars with 2 different type sword devices. Perhaps the camera flash caught the swords making them look "new"? In any event i think it looks good. Matt Also looks good in my eyes.
Valter Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Also looks good in my eyes. Uuups, it seems I got over-paranoid with all these fakes. I need to learn more. Good news anyway and thank you for your replies!
saschaw Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 This Prussian officer who was a Saxon in 1866 is really odd... but he does look old. Fake bar of the week! http://www.ebay.de/itm/281060939963
saschaw Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 "Original", according to the seller - but I do disagree! http://www.ebay.de/itm/170992129326
