Solomon Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 (edited) The name and rank, you asked for, isAssistenz- und Batallionsarzt des Armierungsbatallions No. 119Dr. Friedrich LangHe was a doctor in the army...a very nice group with IC at non-combatant-ribbon and long-service-medal. andy Posted September 21, 2006 Author Posted September 21, 2006 Thank you Solomonthats just what I needed to knowregardsandy
Wild Card Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 To be a little more specific Andy, the second medal is the Prussian long service decoration 2nd class, awarded from 1913 -1920 for twelve years service.
Guest Rick Research Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 And to be more precise:the document to the doctor has nothing to do with the medal bar. If it is being offered as a set, it is not. That is also NOT a Prussian XII Years NCOs' long service medal hanging on the Prussian long service awards ribbon: the incorrectly attached medal is from W?rttemberg.THIS in last place is a Prussian XII:[attachmentid=54366]It may also just be the distorted colors of the scans, but the non combatant Iron Cross ribbon appears to be implausibly vividly minty fresh and is, if you blacklight it, I suspect a modern synthetic the white of which will glow a vivid electric blue.
Ulsterman Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 (edited) sweet LS medal-you don't see the 12 very often-well, i don't anyway. Note the date on the bestowal doc too. Edited September 22, 2006 by Ulsterman
Tom Y Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Just for the record, here's the W?rttemberg 9 Year DA on the correct, albeit modern, ribbon.
Wild Card Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Hoooo Boy! To be more specific - Andy, Rick and Tom Y have it right. Sorry guys.

I would like the certificate if its ok and would appreciate your help regarding its value alone.thanks againandyPS in your opinion, is the medal bar period at all or a modern made up piece? Gerd Becker Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Thank youyes it is being offered as a set!! The price being asked is ?160. Post the last picture, which you posted on the other forum too and i guess, everyone will agree, that the EK on non-combattant ribbon was added at a later point.Btw, 160 British Pounds is insane Gerd
