    MAX Show 2006

    Row U

i spy this EK 1 on a table with little else

Imperial, and a price tag of $150...

    i stops...

    i looks...

i am told that this is a "transitional" EK 1....

silly me, i sez whadayaMEAN, transitional??????

    to which he replies......

    (see next)

    yeah...

they transitioned it from a second class to a first class....

my eyes is WATERIN' at the beauty before me!!!!

i pause for that moment whilst i gaze upon one of my FAVORITE

    Imperial things, an EK2 - 1 conversion....

i sez, knowing full well the answer, so this is really an EK 2....

yes, sez he, and you can have it for $75.....

    the pin does not hinge.

the burnishing to remove telltale signs of the

    eye is terrific.

    i LOVE 'em!

    enjoy!

    Hi Joe,

That's a very nice conversion. Great story as well!

I only have one. They've cut/ground off the crown and date before adding a hinge/pin/catch assembly, which is set on small plates. Subsequently touched up with black paint. Your's looks much neater!

Thought I'd show my one too.

Strange that the reverse is plain, as if the core from an EKI was put in an EKII frame.

I also have one of these conversions, and find them very interesting. I also have an EK1 where the pin has broken off, and a jeweler has added a loop at the top and converted the catch to a loop as well, for sewing onto the tunic.

For some reason I've not been able to post pictures on this site.

You need to keep the size below 110kb per picture

Okay, I think I've figured this out, being a computer-imbecile and all. If I convert my files from tif to JPEG, they seem to work. Here's the EK 1 with the modification for sewing onto tunic. Sorry, my scanner is a piece of junk, hence the quality. Reverse on next post.
