NTZ
At the request of some members I am posting this grouping. It is all named to a field surgeon in WWI. His name is Edward Cline Bull. From the research I did on him it looks like he became a prominent surgeon after the war. I know he wrote some medical journals on re-constructive surgery. NTZ
Hi guys, Chris I know the lower chevrons are overseas stripes and I am pretty sure the red one is for completed service overseas. The whole uniform including the belt are all British made. Believe it or not this grouping came from Peter at Collectors Guild. I was just looking through his US section and spotted it. hunyadi
Hi guys, Chris I know the lower chevrons are overseas stripes and I am pretty sure the red one is for completed service overseas. Red Stripe is more like a discharge stripe - meaning he could wear the uniform in public as a civilian. Similar in WW2 was the "Ruptured Duck" however that didnt come into full practice until the end of the war. When my grandfather returned from the CBI in 1944 - he kept running into MP's who thought he was an AWOL Captain (!?) Eventualy he took the uniform off and put it in a closet to be eaten away by moths....
