Steve campbell Posted January 21, 2007 Author Posted January 21, 2007 This one has a nice look. It's stamped LW on the ring.
Steve campbell Posted January 21, 2007 Author Posted January 21, 2007 And the rear of the LW. Again, thanks for looking.
Steve campbell Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 A few more have joined the family. First is a maker marked A that came on a single parade mount.
Steve campbell Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 The rear of the WuS. The frame is nice on this one but there is a little surface rust on the core. I may try and clean it.
Steve campbell Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 Finally one marked KAG. These are supposed to be common but I never saw that many for sale. Finally got one.
Steve campbell Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 The rear of the KAG. Thanks for looking.
buellmeister Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Steve, I must commend you on a well diversified collection of Imperial EK2's. I love the various maker marks and variations as well. Regards,Joel
Steve campbell Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 Thank you. It's where I've been focusing my collecting lately. I love these things. Hopefully more to come. Steve
Guest Martin Burr Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Hi Steve You have a great collection of these 1914 EK2's. It's good to see so many of the maker variations and I must admit that these crosses are becoming of great collecting interest to me. I have four so far and hope to increase my collection. Like you have said previously, these are still cheap to buy and unlike the TR EK2's, seem to be less prone to being faked. I shall follow your collection with interest.
Steve campbell Posted February 22, 2007 Author Posted February 22, 2007 I appreciate the comments. If you keep loking you should find some deals. As you get more the maker marks that you don't have get harder to find. You have to shake a few trees. Working on some EK1's also, plus there's always is the 1939 series too. I have about a dozen of them. They're all nice really.
gregM Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Hi Steve, can you post a picture of the WS / Z makers marks?
Steve campbell Posted February 23, 2007 Author Posted February 23, 2007 I was just asked to post a maker mark photo over on WAF and honestly I don't know how to get such a small shot. What would I do. I don't think my camera will get in that close. The mark is a fairly large Z over something else which you can sort of make out as a WS. gues the core lets you know it's WS. Any ideas on how to get the shot?
Steve campbell Posted March 22, 2007 Author Posted March 22, 2007 Two more beauties arrived yesterday. The first is marked SW for Sy-Wagner of Berlin. This one had that real darked patina to it that I love.
Steve campbell Posted March 22, 2007 Author Posted March 22, 2007 The other one is marked R on the ring for Alfred Rosner of Dresden. This one is in great shape too.
Motorhead Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 (edited) @Greg-Steves overstamped S.W is the same like this one(Steve,I hope you don't mind I'm posting my pics here)My mistake-the EKs are WS!!Micha Edited March 22, 2007 by Motorhead
Steve campbell Posted March 22, 2007 Author Posted March 22, 2007 I thought the over stamped with Z crosses were WS not SW made pieces. Or did Z overstamp other makers? Could you please clarify? Thanks, Steve
Motorhead Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 I have to apologise-you are absolutely right-they are WS.......Micha
Steve campbell Posted March 22, 2007 Author Posted March 22, 2007 I thought is what you told me before, and then I posted a new SW, so I became confused. Is the makers stamp that Z uses always a large Z or have you also seen small Z markings?
Motorhead Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Going through my files I only find one variation of a "Z".That doesn't mean there are no others, but in this case I would belive this is the only one.But if someone has got anothre, please post the pics!Micha
