Ulsterman Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 tell me more-what did you have to do to get this? Were there production quotas or was it general merit?Beautiful medal.
Christian Zulus Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 tell me more-what did you have to do to get this? Were there production quotas or was it general merit?Beautiful medal.Dear Ulsterman,I am not an expert, but due to the fact, that there is another YU-Order for general merit, I assume, that the "Order of Labour" had been attached to the sphere of production, education and all sort of arts. That order might have been also used - as in my case - as a long service award.I also like the design very much and you can still get the order for almost an "apple & egg" .Best regards Christian

Bryan Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 The enamel on the first model looks to be lot better than on the later issued model.
Christian Zulus Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 The enamel on the first model looks to be lot better than on the later issued model.Might be "Made in the CCCP" ?Best regards Christian
Bryan Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 Might be "Made in the CCCP" ?Well on the screwnut it is written IKOM Zagreb, so I don't think so.
new world Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Enamel is definitely of much better quality and construction has that special "old" feel to it.But the award is made in Yugoslavia by IKOM. William
Christian Zulus Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Gentlemen, well, I think, I need new glasses: IKOM & Zagreb are not located in the CCCP .Best regards Christian

Ed_Haynes Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Is there any accepted typology/chronology of these awards? I ask because I completed by "basic set" today with a very nice cased first class. The amazing massive case is 49 mm deep.
Ed_Haynes Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 And the badge -- which may not scan well, as heavily domed as it is.The enamel is a very dark, rich, claret color. The badge is 63.35 g.
